Do I Dare...Change my Hare????

What you talk'in about Mama!!???

Ooops...sorry Razzy, I mean "Hair" not Hare. hee, hee, hee.

So this is how the story goes. I haven't seen my natural hair color since I was 14. Yep...that's right, 14. My mom was a  hair stylist, what can I say. While I was born a natural blonde, by the time I got to 13, it got dark and mousey and kinda boring so I started to color it.

Fast forward 28 years and here I am still coloring. I'm going to my stylist on Tuesday and I'm really thinking about reversing my hair and making it more dark with a few highlights instead of light with a few lowlights. See those dark roots? (It was hard to take this picture myself).

I wish I could be like Tiffany Taylor. Do any of you remember her? She was the only doll I ever played with. Basically, because she was 19" tall and a teenager doll. Believe it or not, me that doesn't save many things, saved the Tiffany doll. Here she is in all her 70's glory with her fabulous frock and blue eyeshadow! (I'm singing some disco songs right now)
Tiffany could change her hair color from blonde to brunette just by twisting her scalp around. Man...that would save a ton of money! Of course, my brains might get lost faster than they do now if I started twisting my scalp around. hee, hee, hee.

Blonde
Twist a roo...Brunette. Cool huh!

So, what do you think. Should I change my hair from light with a few dark pieces to dark with a few light pieces? My 42 birthday is on March 27 and I'm feeling as " Mad as a March Hare," so I might just do it.
Let me know what ya think. Do I dare change my hair?

hugs and friends,
shell

I think you've decided really, havent you hun? When I got into my 40s I went from my regular dark brunette to red (and I mean red - a la Milla Jojovich on that famous advert!)Ok - I toned it down after a few w for you to to have a new look, and the great thing is you can always change back. But I think you will look great whatever you do!

You're beautiful either way, Shell. Give it a go and see what you think. I bet it will really make your eyes POP to have dark hair! And, before you know it, you won't have to color at all any more. (More $$ for crafty stuff!)
Can't wait to see what you decide.

Oh, BTW-That's pretty darn cool how that doll changes its hair color!

Give it a try -- you can always lighten it back up with more highlights if you don't like it. But give it at least 3 weeks after you've had it done. I had a temporary rinse put in my hair this week, loathe it and am threatening to go about wearing a wig until it fades out -- but I'm told that 2 or 3 weeks from now I'll probably like it. A big change in hair can take a lot of getting used to!

Michelle,
If you change your hair style to a darker, richer color with a few highlights, you will look just like me! Except I will be taller.... HAHA! And one more thing, how old would you be if you didn't know how old you were? I am in my twenties... forever!
Change your hair, change your house, just remember you can always change it back or you can paint over it!
Lots o' love from your younger, taller, little sister.

We all want to see your real color! Besides it's better to check it out now than when you start getting white or grey or whatever on down the road.......besides that hair color will addle your brain as much as twisting your scalp.

Oooh, this is a tough one to imagine since I've always been the brunette in this friendship and you the blonde. But then again, I had a blondish faze back in my early twenties that I really enjoyed. I say you won't know until you try it... after all, you can change it back. One suggestion - go to a wig shop and try on a few rugs.

Shell, I agree with everyone else, go for it. We expect to see pictures of the new you. If you don't like it, you can change the color and regrow the hair if you have it cut. Take care.

Rude Mr. Hef's dad was evesdropping and added up your age! Tsk!
I have brown hair and want to change to to blonde, can we trade?
I wouldn't just go natural plain brown to me gets boring, I at least need to get some highlighs soon.

Shell, do whatever makes your heart happy. You can always change it back if you don't like it. And, when you get old like me, I let the silver highlight the brown, no upkeep to it - it's natural and it's fine with me.

I have to agree with everyone else! It will be fun to change your hair, and the best thing is, you can always change it again if you really don't like it!

Nothing makes you feel energized like a fresh new hair style :)

Can't wait to see pics!

NO! (Somebody had to vote that way!) Tiffany Taylor - oh yes .. there were TWO of them in our house! Then came horses, then boys, then marriage and now grandchildren ... there you go.

You should do it. I decided to grow out my color and go back to my original ebony hair color. It's kind of cool..like going back to your original self.

I am going by the little picture at the top and I think you look natural in that color. This is advice from some who has at least five colors in her hair and they are not dyed, lol.

I vote go for it: I just recently went back to my natural color after about 15 years of being a very-bleached blonde.

I was born a redhead, but when the white started coming in and I tried to dye to match my natural color, I would end up looking like a "dragon lady" when the roots came in. Since I had naturally blonde eyebrows, blonde was my only alternative, so I went uber-blonde. It worked for me until this past November, when my hairstylist happened to cut my already ultra-short hair a wee bit shorter. It was too short to bother coloring, and by the time I would have colored it, it was time to cut it again. Long story short, I decided to leave it. My hair is now mostly red with a fringe of white-blonde in the front and on the sides--and somehow it looks pretty good like that, so for now, that's how it'll stay. I still have one box of hair bleach on reserve, though--just in case I change my mind. :)
