Imagination

Isn't one's imagination a funny little thing? I find it quite fascinating all the wonderful things that come from imagining something.

I tend to have an overactive imagination. Maybe because for me, it's just so fun to pretend. Maybe because I love stories and magic and happily ever after things and stuff that makes you laugh and smile really big. Maybe because kindergarten will always be my most favorite grade.

Here's a little peeky of another Folk-Art Fusion piece that hopped out of my imagination. Crows wear crowns in my world and yes, the pattern will be in my book, Briarside Lane.

Then there's this little stitchery. Pattern will be available in June. Don't ya just love the Valdani floss colors?

This is another stitchery design. I sit with a pencil and eraser and just draw out the story in my head. Most of the time I sit and look out the window when I draw. The things I see outside help me to tell the story. Then I play with colored pencils til the story looks like what I imagined.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge" - Albert Einstein (I like this fella.)

So...what will you imagine this week?

Happy Friday - Freedom of Home

It sure has been a busy and very fast week. Has it been that way for you too? For most folks here in the US, it's going to be a long Memorial Day weekend. For me it will be a working weekend. When you work for yourself it's just kinda like that.

However, working from home and being my own boss is what I have always wanted to do. It's not easy. I am far from rich, but I am blessed in so many other ways.

I look out my office window and I see Freedom nibbling some grass.

I am surrounded by art and gifts from friends. This is a custom banner I had made for me by Ivonne of The Crackling Crows. I have been wanting one for a while and I saved my pennies to have this  banner made. Isn't it wonderful! I just love it.

And when I climb the stairs to Bunnyville to design some new pieces, I'm always greeted by two adorable little critters that make my heart melt.

Working from home is not easy. Sometimes it's a little lonely, but it is Freedom. This Memorial Day weekend I send heartfelt thanks to all of those who allowed, and continue to allow this beautiful country of ours to remain the land of the free.

Happy Friday!

Work'in on it Wednesday - Purple Posies

Down Briarside Lane there are pots with purple posies.

This is another piece that will be in my Briarside Lane book. Several have asked if I will have kits. I will have wool and floss kits.

These are the Valdani 3 strand colorfast, handoverdyed, floss colors I used for this project. I think they are so yummy!

Speaking of yummy, I have a dinner party to go. I recently helped two really sweet people with decorating their new home. Their prior home burned to the ground and they lost everything. Their little dog, Corky, saved them. I had a wonderful time helping Ed, Carole and Corky to make a comfortable, cozy and warm home in which to make new memories for themselves and their grandchildren.

I got them a little house warming gift and I just had to share my wrapping with you. I loooooooooove to wrap presents! It's just so much fun!

So what are you work'in on this week?

Briarside Lane - Bunnies and Butterflies

Down Briarside Lane, bunnies and butterflies are always good buddies.

This is another Folk-Art Fusion piece for my upcoming book Briarside Lane. I worked most of the weekend on several pieces. I love that table stand. I have lots of them in the SHOP.

It looks like my book will be available in my Shop on July 4th, Independence Day. I will be celebrating my independence and yes indeed, there will be a giveaway.

Have a fun week!

Happy Friday! - The Company Meeting

Ok you two, it's time for our weekly company meeting.

"Again? Already? I thought we just had one?"

"I really hate these company meetings."                       "Me too."

Come on you two! Pay attention and stop twiddling your thumbs toes. We have lots of things to discuss with the new patterns and our Folk-Art Fusion book coming out.

Yawning! Harrington, you're yawing already? It's only been two minutes for goodness sakes!

"We're taking a break Mama. Go do something useful."

Well, I guess this means they won't update the inventory or learn the new computer program.

"Nope."

"Forget it."

Impossible to find good help these days.

Happy Friday!

Here's how all the blocks look together so far.

Remember, you can join in the fun anytime. We have floss, fabric and wool kits available and as always, the patterns are FREE.

Hop over to the SHOP and get the May block.

So glad to have you stitching along with us!

Irish Blessing No. 1 - A New Pattern

Well, I actually finished this ahead of schedule and couldn't wait til Monday to show you so I decided to post it now.
This is my new pattern "Irish Blessing No. 1"

It combines stitchery and patchwork. A special thank you to my friend and talented stitching assistant, April Taylor for her stitching.

This was a really fun pattern to make and I love how it looks on the 12" x 14" table stand.

I have the pattern, table stands,

Valdani 3 Strand Colorfast floss kits

and Fabric kits

available in the SHOP.

I think this would make such a nice housewarming gift, wedding gift or just a fun gift for a special friend. You could even make it into a pillow if you want.

Sending love and hugs to my mom, Ellen, and my adopted mom's Sylvia, Inga and Kris for a very happy Mother's Day! Love you all very much.

A happy Mother's Day to all my blog friends too!

Duck, Duck, Goose. I mean Geese.

Peeps...where are my peeps? Come get your sneaky snacks.

What do we have here? Mr. and Mrs. Mallard have come to town. Mrs. Mallard is such a precious girl. She has an injury to her leg and hobbles up the yard for her sneaky snack. Bless her little self.

Papa Goose get's a bit cranky if Mr. and Mrs. Mallard get too close to the peeps. Probably because one of his peeps went missing. Yes, there once were four and now there are three.

Don't worry Papa Goose. Mr. and Mrs. Mallard are quite darling and there is plenty of proper food here for all.

I did hollar at and fussed out two rotten little heathen boys out of my yard. They were throwing rocks at the peeps and threatening to kill them. I never left my back porch. They ran and stood in the neighbors yard, pointing BB guns at my house and said I was "an ugly old lady that was interferring with their day." I have absolutely no tolerance whatsoever for cruelty to anything. Not critters, elderly, children, nothing! I was about to use my Clint Eastwood "Come on punk, make my day" when the brats ran away. They haven't been back and I know where they live if they try that again. I was so upset over their behavior not only to critters, but to an adult as well. They couldn't be more than 9 years old. All I could think about was what their teachers must have to deal with every day. Very upsetting and truly very sad.

So all is well in the yard again. Yes, they poop... don't we all (unless you don't have enough fiber in your diet. hee, hee, hee). But, when I see them taking a nap under the tree, my heart just melts.

                  "I'm cute! I'm cute!"

"You got her Peep. Mama is such a sucker for cuteness. Hannah and I know first hand."

Happy Friday!

Thoughts on Thursday - my view

The view from my window this morning. A most enchanting fairytale.

I have named this wee one, Freedom, as having freedom to follow my dreams has become most important to me.

Wishing you a beautiful and free Thursday.

Work'in on it Wednesday

Here's another sneaky peaky of my "Irish Blessing" stitchery pattern.

I'm almost finished with it and will write the pattern over the weekend. It will be available in my SHOP next week.

I'll have Valdani 3 strand floss kits and fabric kits for it and

it fits perfectly on this table stand. I've got a bunch of these in and have lots of new patterns coming to go with them.

So that's what I'm work'in on. How about you?

Have you joined the Flickr group to share your progress? We would love to see you!

We still have
             Wool Kits

and Fabric Kits available in our SHOP.

Remember, the patterns are FREE and you can join in the fun any time!

Happy Friday!

Well, if you read our Wednesday post, you will know that we were celebrating Hannah being with us for one year. We had a grand "Party Under the Pear Tree.

Hannah decided that one can never be too close to the refreshments.

"Hey Harrington, where's the banana chips?"

Everything was finger toe licking good.

Then the party moved from "Under the Pear Tree" to the "Poo Poo Bucket."

Here things got a bit wild as Harrington and Hannah had a "hay day."

What on earth? Hannah got a tatoo on her back?!? She assures me it's only temporary and it will shed out in a few weeks.

Then Harrington

and Hannah both passed out from one too many Carro-tini's.

"Mama...must you talk so loud! Shhhh!!"
Ooops, so sorry you party animals. Yes indeed, a good time was had by all.

Happy Friday!

Lady Hannah Goldenhare - Nothing Gold Can Stay

Hello dear friends, It's been a minute hasn't it? My last post was over a year ago. I decided I wanted to stay in my bubble where it...
