Hi ya! Today I wanted to share something truly beautiful with you. I hope you can take a moment to to treat yourself to a cup of tea while you sit and watch this short video. My friend, Marianne shared it with me and I'm delighted to share it with you.
As a designer and maker of textile art and as a lover of all that is handmade, this video really states exactly how I feel about the whole process of handmade. There is just something so wonderful about making something with our own hands, whether it be a quilt, hat or even a healthy dinner. We have gotten away from all of that. It's time to start passing it on to the wee ones before it is gone forever.
Enjoy!

Wow Shell that was amazing. Thanks.
So interesting. I know that my children are grateful that they learned to create. We often talk about how weird it would be to not be making things as we all find it to be so fulfilling!
Brilliant video Michelle. It was so great seeing the kids engaged doing their knitting. I know when I was teaching the kids absolutely loved knitting and sewing, they couldn't get enough of it. Thanks for sharing.
Michelle thank you for sharing this video. She speaks the truth !! She reminds me of Tasha Tudor who I loved and admired and miss especially at this time of year.
Thanks so much for sharing Michelle. I loved it. Merry Christmas to you and those sweet bunnies xxx
That is fantastic. It sums the whole process of 'handmade' up perfectly. Thank you for sharing it sweets!
This lady is very well spoken and has much to say and share regarding our human needs and losses. I hope that she is seen and heard by many. Her message is important.
This is awesome.
The work of our hands....how often do we even stop to think about the everyday activities that we engage in using our hands? Kneading bread...."grasping with our hands....grasping with our minds." How brilliant is this. And yes, children enter into a magical door when they realize that what they have made with their hands is part of their "whole being." My friend, thank you for sharing this and all the work of your hands that has sustained my hope to create for this entire year. I have to use my hands, whether I'm playing my harp, writing, cooking or wildly gesticulating as I TEACH! ahahahahha
Even bunnies use their little paws to keep tidy...teeehehheeeeee
HAPPY DAY! Anita
I am so happy that my daughters and my sons learned to do various crafts and still do them. Our society seems to value the "latest and greatest" in material goods and people and seems to have lost the ability to value and make use of
heritage skills and experienced people.
I love that thank you so much for passing it on. Also thank you for the wonderful gift tags I just loves them.
I am so happy you shared this and I took the short amount of time to really listen to this lovely lady and her wisdom. I hope we never lose the art of creating with our hands. Merry Christmas Blessings Dear with Peace and Joy for all of 2015...
This women reminds me so much of my German stepmother who always has knitting in her hands. She was a master and I am fortunate to have her handmade sweaters, shawls, etc.
Awesome!
So well put.
Wow, what a beautiful lady and what beautiful, inspirational words. Thank you so much for sharing this. So uplifting! Merry Christmas, 'chelle ;)
Loved this She'll - very eloquent, and such a good reminder. Every time I begin to think I do a good job with handmade I realize there is much more to be done. This has given me much to think about, much to ponder...
