Hi ya! Did you have a good weekend? I spent my time stitching on something new. I will show you soon.
As you know, when I'm working in Bunnyville, I normally listen to music. Sometimes though I like to listen to inspiring stories about artists. I do love to hear how their dreams and visions came to be. It's quite fascinating.
I have been a HUGE fan of Salley Mavor's work for a long time. I own several of her books and will be purchasing her new book when it comes out next year.
She is also someone I hope to meet in person one day. I don't know her and she doesn't know me, but I am drawn to her incredible work and her warm and kind smile.
Plus, she likes making rabbits! You know she has to be a great lady if she makes rabbits! hee, hee, hee ;)
Salley creates images she calls Fabric Relief. Every piece is stitched completely by hand and framed.
She uses these pieces to write children's books. I think they are so wonderful. Oh how fun it would be to attend this lecture!
This is a video of Salley's "Rabbitat." I know you will enjoy seeing it and hearing about her creative journey as much as I have.
Hop over to her website when you are done and pay her a visit. You will certainly be glad you did.
xx,
Michelle and the Bunnies

Oh my word....there are so many artists out there, I can see now that I would never have had a chance to get my work rolling! But I LOVE and appreciate the hard work all of you put into delivering the most enchanting art, Michelle. Her rabbits are OUTRAGEOUSLY CUTE! And a good morning to you with a warm hug! LOVE! Anita

Thanks for the review of her books and work.
Thank you for introducing us to this talented woman!
Michelle - you'll just have to come up to New England and visit - she's "on the Cape" (a/k/a Cape Cod) and often has shows and/or lectures. Let us know if you ever decide to make the trip - you have a lot of fans who would love to meet you!
I took a class from her in Atlanta many years ago and have always been a big fan. And she is the nicest person you'll ever meet!
