Harrington and Hannah simply adore baby romaine. While fix'in their breakfast last week, I fell in love with the colors of the lettuce. The warm, yellow, greens and the deep, rich, purples.
My eye then went over to this little fella, who sits on an antique, school chair in my kitchen. Again I saw those marvelous colors mixed together.
So this weekend, I hopped on down to the quilt shop and purchased some of those fabrics. I have three designs in my head right now that need to get on paper. They will look wonderful with these fabrics. Mr. and Mrs. Bunny told me are ready to harvest them. Hee,hee, hee.
Are ya'll lov'in them as much as I am?

Love your fabrics! Great idea to follow natures design-if the colours go together in nature, they are bound to go together in a quilt! Can't wait to see the pattern you create.
awww how sweet! The fabrics are so pretty.
Love these colors - when I posted pictures of the Farmer's Market on my blog, I immediately wanted a quilt made out of the colors of the peppers - still planning to. I still have never been able to duplicate/find the Spring green of new growth I see every year. Still looking. Judy C in NC
Inspiration derived from the buns' salad colors means they should get royalty payments. (Good colors!)
I am loving it too Shell! Harrington and Hannah are pretty clever rabbits I think - they entertain AND they inspire!
Can't wait to see what you "toss" together...
Love those colors! I suppose Hannah and Harrington will take full credit, since you were fixing their meal!
Gorgeous colour combi, can't wait to see what clever design you come up with. I'm in love with that wooden bunny that sits on your antique school chair, where do you find such adorable pieces?
Have a good week and love to the buns xxx
Shell, what beautiful, rich colors-they are just beautiful together! Enjoy creating!!
I have to laugh, but that quote about inspriation coming from anywhere is so true. And yes, I adore the combo (and bunny with the wreath)... looking forward to seeing more!
I absolutely love the combination. I'm going to check in my stash and see what I have that would work. I had never looked at foods to see what colors are there. You just opened a new door for me! Thanks, Shell!
Oh, yummy colors - my colors!! :-)) Can't wait to see what you are going to do with them!!! Kris
"Lettuce" contemplate these lovely colors for a moment--and declare them absolutely gorgeous! They certainly complement Mr. and Mrs. Bunny quite nicely. I also love your kitchen-chair bunny and his beautiful wresth.
Mr. Mick sends nose bonks and bunny kisses to his beloved Auntie Shell. :)
I love those colours Shell. Can't wait to see what you are making. Hugs to you & the Bunnies.
How clever to get your inspiration from the colours in your lettuce... looks lovely....

Very nice. The colors are beautiful. I often look at colors in nature and dream up ways to use them while knitting sweaters, etc.
Love your colors and fabric choices, Shell! Can't wait to see what you decide to make with them.

Perfect! A HUGE Salad Quilt!
Inspired by lettuce- brilliant, Shell!
The colours are lovely and from what I see in their patterns, those are great as well! Im all for! :D
Hugs,
beautiful colours! I love the idea of a quilt inspired by salad leaves...
These are my favorite colors, I tend to always lean toward greens and blue hues. A little purple in your case is beautiful. I also like to add some browns and rust. I'm a totally rustic kind of gal, I guess! Just beautiful, Shell!
What a lovely color scheme!
Inspiration from lettuce. That's a new one but it works. Love the new fabrics.
Love love love the color scheme and how your inspiration came about :) Can't wait to see what you do!!! Hope you're avoiding the hurricane?
Hi Shell,
Adore your colour scheme and choice of fabrics. The quilt is going to be beautiful and can't wait to see it all finished. How neat that you got the inspiration from the lettuce leaves. Stay safe from the hurricane, will be hoping that it goes elsewhere.
Have a great week
Hugs
Carolyn
