"I am excccccessively fond of a cottage." - Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility.
I must say, so am I. Especially, the cottages in the Cotswolds! The charm, coziness and pure magic made me so happy! If you follow me on Facebook, you will see a video that Jules took of me there. I couldn't get the smile off my face.
This cottage actually went across a road! How cool is that?
Yeah, I could totally live there. :)
I was fascinated by all the tiny architectural details. Like the gutters! Such ornate designs.
The door knockers,
gates to enchanting gardens and
even the cottage name plates sent this architectural geek on a high!
I love the color and the gables on this one.
Townhomes in the US are nowhere near as charming as these next to the river. Of course, I did wonder if they ever flood there. Living near the water I always think about flooding.
Peeking over a gate and spying a knot garden. I have always wanted a knot garden. David's response is always, "Lets 'knot' and say we did." LOL!! Meany :(
This little shop in the village caught my eye.
Any clue why? hee,hee,hee
Of course, the flowers were all perfect.
Next, we headed over to the Manor House.
I must say this place took my breath away as we came up the drive.
We got our workout walking up these steps. At each level there was something incredible to see.
Do you see the gargoyles? Oh my gosh!!!
There were so many paths through the gardens. The stone walls and hedgerows were simply enchanting.
This is one of my most favorite photos from the trip. I love the texture and the colors.
Sallieann treated us to the most lovely afternoon. I treated her and her husband, Mike, to tacos when there were visiting us. Hmmmm... need to step up my game on their next visit. ;)
Here is Beth trying to decide on what tea to have.
We had lovely sandwiches, they even had vegetarian for me and of course, the desserts were exquisite. I will admit that I ate one of everything as they don't do "doggie bags" like we do and I wanted to taste them all. I was on a massive sugar rush the rest of the day. LOL! Beth and I both liked the fruit tart best.
I hope your Sunday has been extra sweet. Thank you for following along with my tales and adventures. I'll see ya back here on Wednesday.
Light, love and hugs,
Michelle

The Cotswolds is such a beautiful part of UK, no wonder you loved your time there, so full of history and beautiful buildings. We are from New Zealand and so enjoyed our time traveling around England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. Interesting enough, the locals don't seem travel to other parts of UK, usually seem to go on package holidays abroad. I had a penfriend in Birmingham who we called in to see, and she had to admit that we had seen more of her country on our 3 month holiday, than she had, living there all her life!
Oh Shell.....
OK, I'm a Francophile. When I went to France, I was in my element, I couldn't get enough of the architecture and the food, the people and especially the language.
HOWEVER...since the internet and the ability to "visit" places you've never dreamed of seeing on platforms such as blogging, Pinterest, Instagram and now with Netflix where you can see shows set in ENGLAND, I have become a certified, bonified ANGLOPHILE!
We are hooked on The Great British Baking Show and also Escape to the Country, where we have fallen in love with the countryside and cottages.
We hope to visit England in the next year or two to feel the fairytale in the air. And that bunny shoppe, HOW CUTE IS THAT???
Oh, memories, Michelle! Yours for sure. Mine too. We also visited this lovely village. I came home to the US and painted several of these wonderful cottages from my photos. Your memories are so fresh - may they last forever! Hope you get to go back! <3

Thank you, Michelle, for sharing your wonderful trip! I have so enjoyed all the photos. Visiting England is on my bucket list. I appreciate and understand that you did not go with a professional tour group which is how I prefer to travel as long as I am able. To have tea at a golf club steeped in tradition would be an over-the-top treat. Maybe you’ll travel across the pond again.....
Amazingly beautiful pictures! What a trip!
I have enjoyed seeing pics of your trip to England. It's a place I have always wanted to visit. I love old cottages and thatched roofs, the architectural beauty and wonderful gardens they have there. Truly amazing! Thanks!
Wow and wowsa! Stunning! And bunnies to boot! First I thought it was the teapot that drew you in, then I saw the bunbuns. Who could resist?!
Mmmmmmm, scrumptious looking sweets! Thanks for sharing.
I have just loved seeing pictures and reading about your wonderful trip! I watch a lot of British programming and I love the Cotswolds. I could happily live in one of their cottages. Hugs,
