It's our day to play on the Tree Bird Blog Hop!

Woo hoo! Today is our day! First, the bunnies, Sabrina kitty and I would like to thank our dear friends, Lana of It Seams to Be Sew and the lovely, Madame Samm of Sew We Stitch. Thank you both for all your hard work in putting this hop together. Hugs!

So let's get hopping shall we?

This is my new Folk Art Fusion design called "Bird on My Berry Tree."

It features my signature reverse wool applique with National Nonwovens wool felt,  hand embroidery with Valdani pearl cotton and machine quilting.

The design was inspired by the birds who nest in the holly bushes outside my studio window.

I love watching the birds eat the berries even when the berries are frozen like they were a few weeks ago!

There are bead and yarn embellishments, which adds a little depth and dimension to the wool felt.

I will be adding this design to the list of classes I teach. Everyone deserves a play date! I would love to meet you and spend a fun day together creating Folk Art Fusion. Click on the tab above for more information.

I have COMPLETE kits, which include a paper pattern available in my SHOP. Simply open the box and begin. You will have everything you need except an iron, applique pressing sheet and sewing machine to complete the project. I do sell applique pressing sheets in my shop if you need one.

I also have PDF patterns available in my CRAFTSY shop. Just download and begin!

Finally, I have been asked many times to bring back some of my previous stitchery designs. So, I thought this was the perfect time to bring these two back. Here are my "Birds on my Berry Trees" stitchery/patchwork designs. As you can see, it was also the inspiration for my Folk Art Fusion design as I combined elements from both of these. Everything is new again right? :)

This project is available as a PDF download only. You can hop over to my CRAFTSY shop if you would like to stitch this. (A very special thank you to my stitching assistant, April Taylor for all her wonderful stitchery work).

We do hope you have enjoyed your visit with us today and we thank you for all your wonderful friendship and support of our small business.

Now we invite you to visit with these other fabulous friends with whom we are delighted to share this day with.

Geeze - I go off in the mountains with no I-Net for three days and when I come back - blamo - Christmas already! I best get shopping!

Unfortunately, out here in the Pacific North West, Holly is badly invasive and spreads rapidly by birds and the berries! We destroy them as fast as they can be found. (But I like them anyway and keep some locations (like just down the fence line) secret so I get some branches for holiday trimming!)

Your stitching is just beautiful and unique. The bird on the topiary turned out just lovely.
