This week I'm grateful for fresh veggies and friends who grow them.
I went to my guild meeting the other night and Bonnie brought lots of veggies from her garden. Some of the gals took a few, but there were all of these left. Bonnie said, "Michelle, I trust you will take the rest?" Oh yeah! Happy bunny dance!
Most of my friends know I'm a vegetarian who is a terrible gardener. I can't grow anything but ivy plants. Isn't my bunny planter cute? :) :) :)
Sometimes, I feel like me and ivy have a really good friendship going on. I trim it back and shove the clippings in a glass of water and voila', I have another ivy plant. Everything else I try to grow gives me the ole' stink eye and then croaks. I have a Gerber daisy plant on the back porch now...it's life expectancy fluctuates from day to day. hee,hee,hee.
So a big "THANK YOU" to all the fabulous friends, family and farmers who know how to grow the bestest stuff ever and thank you ivy for saving me from feeling like a plant serial killer!

My Mom is a plant serial killer - have to keep her away from all the flower beds or they turn to dust. But Ivy is such a beautiful plant, so you keep growing it.

I empathise with you. I kill mint and it is supposed to grow so vigorously it is like a weed - not in my garden. Hope you have a wonderful weekend hugs
teehee.....I am the opposite; I am a killer of all INDOOR plants, but pretty darn good with the earth. In the summer, I get a thrill being DIRTY for the morning, then showering and enjoying the fruit of my labors from my enclosed deck and seeing how magical those boxwood plants look and my container plants!
I am grateful for so much:
new bunnies that appear in my garden.
good books in which I dive and find myself.
a great husband.
good friends, near and very far.
a good job doing what I love.
goals that are attainable, no matter how many light years away they seem.
to be alive in body AND most of all, in spirit.
Now let's make this Friday a FABULOUS ONE!
With great gardening friends like that, you don't need to garden!!! Summer is the best time for clean eating! Nothing like a tomato right off the vine.

The veggies look yummy! And I am like you, I do not have any kind of green thumb. It's a shame too, because I love to garden :-(
We have a lovely neighbor who brings us bushel baskets of corn, beans, squash, tomatoes...you name it in exchange for letting him use our land for growing said veggies and for deer hunting. Our land gets used, and we all get fed very well! Hey! I didn't know you were a vegetarian, and I've been looking for some really good veg recipes. What are some of your favorites?

What a fun post - I laughed about the bit about not being able to grow vegetables... did I ever tell you I suck at growing plants too? Herbs I can manage, but the rest are in a perpetual state of almost dying... my son says my plants should come with chalk outlines - I think they die in self-defence...
