A River Flows in Me and Wednesday

Hi ya,

What a weekend it was. I finally finished with some deadlines and am looking forward to some new, fun things to share with you in the next couple of weeks.

In fact, one thing will be this Wednesday. I've decided to sell some of my original art. I have many blog friends and friends in general, who are not quilters (yes I try to convert them, but it's not going to happen).  They always ask me if I will ever sell my original pieces. So, I've decided every Wednesday for the next couple of weeks will be "One of A Kind Wednesday!" Each piece is handmade by me and one of a kind.

Here's a sneaky peeky of this Wednesdays One of a Kind. In order to accommodate and be fair to the time zones of friends around the world, I will be posting this piece at 9:00 p.m. EST. The first person to email me with a purchase request/payment for the piece will get it. Each week will bring a new piece.

On another note, it was a very emotional weekend. I lost a very dear friend, Margaret Schnell. Margaret was my mentor, my confidant, and my friend. She gave me my first chance at a career when I was a scared, poor, and lost, 20 year old fresh out of secretarial school at the community college. Margaret taught me more than anyone ever had about work, finances (I made $5 an hour), and life. She treated me like a daughter and believed in me. One of her favorite sayings was, "Michelle, you don't need a lot of clothes. They are just body covers. Save your money." To this day I don't have a lot of clothes. She helped me find courage to stand up for myself and be a strong woman. She brought David and I together knowing we were perfect for each other. Before our wedding she said to me, "Michelle, don't be upset but I'm going to sit on David's side at the wedding. The groom has less people and I get a better view."

I knew her health was failing as this was the first year in 25 years she didn't send me a birthday card. Margaret became an angel on July 3 at age 83. A river flows in me with all the knowledge, kindness and love she gave me. I love you my dear friend. I will always carry your light with me. Thank you for believing in me and loving me.

This Lindsey Stirling  "A River Flows in You" is for Margaret.

See you back here Wednesday at 9:00 p.m.

Light, love, and hugs to you,
Michelle and the Bunnies

Bless your heart. I have tears welled up in my eyes for you. I am going to learn from you. I had a very frustrating cross country journey with my 83 yr. old friend this past spring and we've not communicated with each other since, but I'm going to claim today as a new day and give her a call. The whole purpose of the journey was to spend time together because she IS 83. Thank you for sharing such a lovely and eloquent tribute to your friend. ~karen

"Do not stand by my grave and weep, for I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow; I am the gentle autumn’s rain. I am the softly falling snow; I am the diamond’s glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am in the graceful rush of beautiful birds in circling flight. I am the flowers that bloom; I am the birds that sing. I am the soft stars that shine at night. I am in a quiet room; I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there; I did not die."

These words comforted me when I lost my parents and my beloved "four-pawed baby." I hope they will comfort you also.

How wonderful that you had someone like Margaret in your life! She must have been a joy. You will miss her but she will always hold a piece of your heart, and as long as she is remembered she isn't really gone. Her legacy is you and The Raspberry Rabbits and the wonderful creations you share with others.

Thank you for sharing this private moment with us. May the Faeries Shine Upon You!!!
