Coming Soon!

Hi ya! Are you having a good week so far? I am. I've been busy working on designs for my second Folk Art Fusion book, "Fabled Fusions." I can't wait to show you!

Today I wanted to give you a preview of something fun I'll be carrying in my SHOP. I've asked my dear friend, Joanne May, to design some custom scissor fobs for me. I mean bunny scissors need fun fobs right? :)

There will be three different designs available. They are on their way to me from England, so it will be a few weeks before I have them for sale.

Of course, Jo always makes something fabulous that I just have to purchase as a present for myself! This time she made this Raspberry Rabbit Brooch! I told her she need not list it in her ETSY SHOP. Just put it in the package with the fobs. It's mine! Woo hoo! (Lots of happy bunny dancing ensued.)

Well have a fun and creative day. Harrington and Hannah will see you right back here on Friday.

Dare to Dresden?

Welcome to the Dare to Dresden Blog Hop!

We are so excited to have you join us today! Big bunny hugs to the lovely, Christine of Quilt Monster in My Closet for hosting this hop! Of course, these wonderful, fun, hops would not be possible without the tireless efforts of our one and only, fabulous head cheerleader, Madam Samm of Sew We Quilt! Thanks so much Samm!

So let's get started! I was so excited to join this hop as I had just finished sketches for a new Folk Art Fusion Design called, Yellow Daisy Dresdens. It's a variation of an original dresden plate plate block. I couldn't believe there was going to be a dresden hop. So join I did. Fun!

I listen to music all day while I work, so most of my designs are inspired by words or music. In this case, Yellow Daisy Dresdens was inspired by music from Lindsey Stirling and her original song, Electric Daisy Violin. She is an incredible young lady and I love her fun spirit with a violin. Here's her video if you would like to listen to it as you read on. Yes...I hop around and dance in Bunnyville while I work. Gotta work them buns. My buns...not the Harrington and Hannah buns. hee, hee, hee. ;)

Forever being a decorator, I wanted to design something for my dining room table that you too could make for yours, or as a wall hanging.

As in all my Folk Art Fusion, there is wool applique, patchwork, hand stitching, machine quilting and more. Lots of fun things to do!

When I was at Quilt Market, a lady told me my designs were so nice because they were "achievable." I liked that! We all only have a few precious hours each day to do the things we love. It's fun to be able to make something that can actually be finished in a short amount of time and still gives us joy in the making of it. Being able to decorate our houses with something we made is even better! No special talent needed, smiling face required. :)

Patterns as well as National Nonwovens Wool and Valdani 3 Strand Floss kits for my Yellow Daisy Dresdens are available in my SHOP.

Of course, we have to have a giveaway! I mean this is a party after all! Woo hoo! Our prize for this giveaway is....

Rabbit embroidery scissors! To enter the giveway, please leave a comment on this post. As always, we love and adore our friends and if you are signed up (on the right sidebar) as an official friend/follower, you will receive two chances!

The bunnies will use the random number generator to select the winner this coming Monday, January 28th.

Thank you so very much for joining us today. Now, we invite you to hop over and visit our friends that we are honored to share this day with. Have fun hopping!

Decorating, A Sneaky Peeky and A Reminder

What's that saying? You can take the girl out of decorating, but you can't take the decorating out of the girl. Even though I no longer work in home building and interior design, I still can't help but see things through the eyes of an interior designer.

I love the thought of decorating with quilts, textiles and of course, handmade things. I'm not one to follow trends anymore, but instead, follow my heart with things that say, "Welcome. I'm so glad you're here. Let's sit and chat over a cup of coffee."

So recently, while thinking of my next Folk Art Fusion design, I got to looking at my dining room table. (The quilt that's normally on the hanger is out on loan to a quilt shop. Hmm... what can I make for it's spot)

Mr. Veggie Soup bunny looked lonely in the middle of my giant table. He needed something to ground him, add some more fun and whimsey.

Here's a sneaky peaky of what's to come this Thursday. Not a table runner, but a table topper. It could also be used as a wall quilt. I truly love decorating with quilts. First, it's really fun to make them! Second, the sense of accomplishment when you make something with your own hands. Third, you can change them out as often as you like and they don't take up a lot of storage space. Finally, there are not hundreds of thousands of the same thing all over the world stamped "Made in China." They are made by you, with love, passion and the joy that comes with creating.

Please join me and the bunnies here this Thursday when we are delighted to kick of the "Dare To Dresden" blog hop with our friends.

See you then!

Love is in everything Handmade

There's been a whole lotta Happy Bunny Dancing going on around here. You know how much I loooooooove handmade things. I get so darn excited! Here's some things that have had me dancing lately.

This adorable couple is actually a piece of vintage, German, folk art. What makes it so incredibly special is it was hand painted by the grandmother of my dear friend, Lydia. Many, many, years ago, Lydia's grandmother would hand paint these little wooden figures to earn money for her family. I absolutely adore this piece and will treasure it forever. Love you Lyd and Oma! I'm honored to have a piece of your family history.

Next, I just had to share this pretty wrapping with you. Isn't it fabulous?

Inside was this incredible brooch from my delightful and fun friend, Jo of Lily Pilly in Australia. I do love my Aussie girlfriends. This is made by local artists through Dick and Dora. It's made from acrylic. I love it because I'm a huge fan of silhouettes and paper cutting designs. Thank you so much Jo! I'm going to wear it on my black winter coat.

Speaking of paper cutting. My dear friend, Jeri Landers, of Hopalong Hollow, (her fence is shown in the previous post) is not only a fabulous artist and author, but she is also an incredible paper cutting artist. I have many pieces of Jeri's art in my home, including one of her books. She truly is one of my absolute favorites as her work makes me smile so very big.

Each year I like to purchase something from her as a gift to myself.  We all deserve a gift for ourselves right?

So this year, when I saw her paper gardens, I knew right away I had to have one for my collection!

Bunnies in a bell jar! My very own secret bunny garden!

Bunnies having tea is always so wonderful.

I've saved the tag too as I love the little charm that say's hand made with love. Jeri's work is truly from the heart.

I have a little wooden stand I used for a candle. It's the perfect size for my secret bunny garden. I've placed it on my bookshelf next to one of Jeri's prints. I think it's the perfect spot. Don't you?

Last for today I had to share these wonderfully, charming pieces from my Danish friend, Susanne. She and I have been blogging/email friends for some time. Two years ago, she and her family came to meet me here in Bunnyville! It was so wonderful! Having friends around the world is truly amazing to me. Susanne made this beautiful heart and even knitted a Harrington and Hannah!! Aren't they just adorable! I'm going to keep them safely tucked away until Christmas next year and then hang them all on my tree. Thank you Susanne!

I encourage you to create with your own hands, to purchase handmade items from others and to do the Happy Bunny Dance every single day. Joy is in the heartfelt things we share with each other and give to ourselves.

Love is in everything handmade.

House Stalking and Stitching

I'll admit it. I'm a house stalker. One of my favorite things to do is drive around neighborhoods looking for cute little houses. I've always loved charming little homes. They tell the best stories. ;)

This adorable cottage is one of my favorites. It's located in my favorite place, Wilmington, NC. I visit Wilmington as much as I can. It's about an hour and a half from me. Every time I go, I drive into this neighborhood to look at stalk "my house."

I like to imagine I live there. The bunnies and I would work in Bunnyville and look out the window to all the happenings of the neighborhood.

I also imagine having a magical little picket fence, like my dear friend, Jeri Landers, of Hopalong Hollow. Isn't this the most beautiful fence? Ahhhhhhh. Apparently, I have fence envy as well. hee, hee, hee.

But, alas I live in my own little cottage in a different town. So until I can live in that cottage in Wilmington, (positive thinking here) I simply use it's charm to inspire me. This is my "Little Houses No. 2" You can stitch one too. My pattern is in my SHOP here.

So, are you a house stalker too?

Happy Friday!

"What are you doing Hannah?"

"I'm doing yoga stretches Harrington. It's a brand new year and we need to get in shape. Why don't you try it?"

"How's this?"

"Harrington, you should also resist overeating and learn to eat more healthy foods."

"Speak for yourself fluffy girl."

"Finally, you should get plenty of rest so your body can refuel itself."

"Now that part is easy."

Happy Friday! Wishing you a very healthy start to your new year.

Lady Hannah Goldenhare - Nothing Gold Can Stay

Hello dear friends, It's been a minute hasn't it? My last post was over a year ago. I decided I wanted to stay in my bubble where it...
