When I win the Lottery

When I win the lottery....it's good to think positive and I love to set my sights on things that I want. To focus on good and fun things. So...when I win the lottery, the first thing I'm going to do is move! I want to move to Wilmington NC. I looooooove it there. Right now I live 2 hours North of Wilmingon in New Bern, NC. While New Bern is a lovely town it is truly boring! Snore!!! I'm a city person, not a small town kinda gal. New Bern was voted one of the best places to retire to. Hello...I'm 42...I want some action! Wilmington has lots of culture, shopping, golf, concerts, beaches, restaurants, you name it! Fun! Fun! Fun!
I love it there so much that I actually spent my birthday there this year. (my birthday was in March) All my fun friends went there too! We had a total blast. I had a permanent smile plastered on my face the entire time. I felt so alive, care free and happy.

David likes it too as he likes to live near the ocean and water. He is not an inland type of fella. I guess because we both came from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Wilmington has a feeling of home without all the congestion that Virginia Beach has.

There is a beautiful old down town area. The houses are incredible. I could house gawk forever!

So, when I win the lottery, this is the sign that I will see. Yippee!!!

When you win the lottery, where will you live????

Hi Shell:
If I won the lottery, I'd want to live on 100 acres in Ocala, FL...horse country. I love horses, but don't want to own any. (They scare me a bit, and the last two times I rode one, I was thrown!) Ocala would also have BARNS...and that's what else would have my attention. Goodness! I've written about barns in my last two comments to you. I sense a theme...

Thanks for asking, Shell. See you soon.

Hey now that looks like a lovely place! If I won the lottery, I'd move to northern lower Michigan....up near the top of the mitten...right on Lake Huron. I grew up summering in a cottage on the beach and it has stayed with me forever. And I get to go visit this weekend!

Right where I already am, in the town where I was born and raised. Oh, I might do a whole lot of traveling with that lottery money, I do love checking out new places, but my home will always be my home. :)

I'd live anywhere but here. This part of Florida is boring and flat and brown. I like the foothills of The Smokey Mountains, or the Rockies. Somewhere that just feels good for the soul. A place to breathe and feel free.

Not sure where I'd move to but I'd love to live out in the country (but not too far out) in a huge old farmhouse that I could turn part of into a studio and have retreats and classes. Of course instead of having to clean up like a B&B, I'd have someone come in to do it. Ahhhhhhhhhh, that would be luxury. LOL Guess I'd have to actually BUY a lottery ticket before that can come true though LOL

Hi Shell, I would find me a place in the country where I didn't have to worry about city traffic, nosy neighbors. I would have someone to take care of it for me so I didn't have to worry about that. I would love to travel to find that spot. Of course, have to take in consideration where family is especially the grandsons. They are so much fun to watch grow up. Have a great day. HI Michelle,
I was just in Wilmington Saturday and agree with you. My friend was down from NY looking at properties. They are thinking about making the big move. I told her I would move to Wilmington in a heart beat! Its just so quiet by us in Swansboro. There is so much to see and do in Wilmington...and its so pretty. Wasn't thrilled with the traffic though. Don't you just LOVE the big old houses down town???!!!

I don't know if I could leave our house. It's our first together, and I don't know if I could leave Grand Island, however I do have a house picked out on the water on the island that I am calling my dream house.
If I did choose to move I think I'd go to NYC, never a dull minute there!

If I won the lottery, I would be your neighbor! I seriously heart North Carolina. This native Texan is ready to leave. Srange thing is I can't seem to get my Tennessee born and raised husband to budge. What's up with that? I was so hoping our son would remain in NC after college, but he returned to Texas! I also adore Fairhope, AL and would move there in a heartbeat!
After moving from a large city to a small one, I so understand your feelings.

Hm. I want to say I'd move somewhere warm and be happy and healthy always. But I know I wouldn't.

If I won the lotto, I'd buy a beautiful old brownstone back in the East Village (20 minutes away and homesick. Oh PS I'm IN manhattan right now at work!!!). There's one on E. 4th (I think) that has these stone bulldogs on the side thingys at the bottom of the steps, and I've always admired them.

And of course I'd travel a whole lot. But I'm like Jade. My home is here.

I think I would live right here - just get that cute cottage! Wink, wink! Wilmington looks wonderful - I haven't yet made it to any of the southern states but we love driving holidays so I know we'll get there one of these days!

Wow!! What a great little town!!! It has one of the things I want when I move to my "win the lottery" perfect place!! The BEACH!!! But I am thinking more alone the lines of five acres right on the beach in Oregon so I can have all my animals and a quilt studio with a view of the waves crashing along the shoreline as I piece a gorgeous quilt!!!

So funny! Don't want to retire at 42 yet? :o) If I win the lottery, I'm staying put! Yup... I'm colorful, flambouant, energetic, fun, often refered to as hilarious, loud... and a homebody. Please don't tell anyone how boring I really am... Oh! I *promise* I will post our cute little house pictures soon :o)

I would move somewhere that is not next to a contractor's workshop.

:-) Am with the poster who said, "anywhere but here." LOL

Depending on the $$$$$, I would have to have "homes" on the east and "left" coast as I love them both! Definitely the Carolina coast somewhere and New England for the east coast... but I love Philly, too. And for the "left" coast? Well, the bay area 'cause DS/DDIL are in Marin... But OR and WA )to include Spokane) are nice, too. Maybe as far south in Cali as "Carmel by the Sea."

I'm done now... oh, but I hope there is enough $$$$ to see Europe! Hope hubby keeps buying those mega-millions tickets. LOL
