My 9 year old niece, Laura Michelle, visited with me and David last week. She is so much fun and provided me with a much needed distraction from sadness. She and I are very much alike and she can handle the fact that her auntie is a total dorkwad.
David took these pictures of us at dinner. It was hotter than blazes all day and all my makeup had sweated off and my hair was a total wreck (see prior post about the at home hair do). Yet, it was still fun being the dorky auntie with Laura.
When I looked at the above picture though, the first thing that came to mind was, Oh my gosh!!! I look like a Dr. Seuss Character!!!
Hello! Hee,hee,hee.
Hope you have a fun weekend. Happy Friday!
Love you Laura!

Laura looks like you!!!
At first I had no idea what you were talking about with the Dr Seuss thing, I had to study those pictures and really work for it. I finally got it. Now every time I see a picture of you I'll think of Dr Seuss, but it will be your fault, giggle snort!
Looks like you and Laura were having lots of fun. I hope you spoil her rotten! That's what the COOL auntie does, you know.
LOL - you do NOT look like a Dr. Seuss character! I know that was last week [before squirrels and hair appointments] but dang, I wish my hair looked half that good.
I don't know this character Dr.seuss, so I don't know if you two are alike...
I love the pictures and Laura seems a wonderful sweet girl.
have a wonderful sunny weekend my dear friend!
xxx
too funny and I have to agree that she does look like you...
That's ok - My sister looks like the grinch who stole christmas
roflol - cute post :)
I think it's an adorable picture! And it's better to look like a Dr. Suess character than Count Chocula which I do since my last haircut! My bangs are all pointy and seem to have lost the in between hair - uuururrrrrrgggghhhhh!
You don't look like Dr Seuss, but I am glad you had a good time with your niece. I enjoyed your previous post and had a good chuckle, but I was having a problem leaving comments. Mr blogger didn't like me I guess. My grandsons all have liked Dr Seuss books. Matt my middle grandson can tell you when you miss a word or a page. Does that tell you how many times it has been read. Have a great weekend and try to stay cool. Your Missouri Friend.
Hi Shell:
You can certainly see the resemblance...between you and Laura, not you and the Dr.! lol Hope you have a fun weekend, too, my friend.
xoxo

Ha ha Shell Loo Who.....it is wonderful to see you smile, that's the look I love!!! The girl I used to be a nanny to always calls me and says, "whobewhatee?" and we will break out in lines from the Grinch, once we looked up our Whoville names....we had fun, and that's the best part about kids, they make you laugh....the best medicine! My kids are coming next week...you know how much I love to see them!
Hugs,
Mags
You were right - this is a hilarious post! I think you must be one fun to aunt! Funny thing - my daughter's name is Laura Michele. I wish I had a picture of us making funny faces when she was young but maybe it isn't too late...
Absolutely - right out of a Seuss book! Both of you! Actually you all look a lot better than the squirrel!
I love Dr. Suess!!! He brings out the kid in all of us. Looks like you two were having a very good time. L,A-

Ah, lovely to see you are having some fun with your niece. You both look very cute together. :-)
You do kind of look like a Dr. Seuss character! ;D
Keep smiling sweetie!
