Quilts, Quilts and More Quilts

Hellooooooooooo! Sorry I didn't post last week. I got behind trying to get ready to go to the Houston Quilt Festival. Boy oh boy was that ever FUN!!! I spent hours and hours photographing quilts to share with you. I will start showing you those next week.

This week, I want to share photos of some of the wonderful quilts from the "Bee by the River" show in New Bern, NC, my old town. I also vended at this show. Here is my booth..

Here is my dear friend Gerri Olvaney. Gerri is Mama to Shamus de Barrington, one of the "Cuddle Puddle" kittens Sabrina had. Gerri has a great eye for display and it was so nice and I'm truly grateful to have had her assistance in setting up and helping with the booth. I think it looked great!

Here's my friend, Julie of Auntie Ju's Quilt Shoppe. I'm using her hand dyed wool in many of my new designs. Hop over and visit her. Tell her I said hi!

Next, are the quilts with the card showing who made the quilt and the story behind the quilt. I always like to give the maker credit and I truly love to read about what inspired them to create it. Please note that the battery died in my good camera, so some of these photos I had take with my phone. Uggg... But anyway, go get something to drink and a little sneaky snack because there is a whole bunch of eye candy to see here!

The theme of the show was red and white quilts. Here are a couple of vintage quilts.

Don't you just love all of these?

Let me know which quilts are your favorite! I'll see ya next week with more quilts, quilts, quilts!

Hugs,
Michelle

WOWSERS.........I wish you all would make a BOOK of all these wondrous designs; it would take hours, days, weeks to relish each individual's details, and the colors and textures, OH MY!!!!!!!

Your booth is wonderful, looks very inviting and would make me want to buy a lot of things!!! Hope you did well.

In looking at all those quilts, which are absolutely gorgeous, I have to ask myself what would one do with them? They would take hours, upon hours to do, they are so intricately done, that they are not worthy of something to throw over you on the sofa when it's cold. Do these artists actually use them at home as a quilt? or do they have extra large blank walls in their homes to display them on? They are much to pretty to throw on your sofa. Thanks for sharing them with us, Michelle.

While they are all beautiful, and since I love "strange geese", 1402 whimsy mountain really caught my eye : ) Vickie
