HomeMayd - Kitchen and Dining Room

Well hello there! How's your week going? Mine has been interesting for sure. I'll get into that on another day.

Today I want to share my Dining Room and Kitchen. Like I said last week, I had plantation shutters installed on all the windows. They make my heart go pitter patter. hee, hee, hee

The four paintings hanging there are originals by Jennifer Lanne. My dear friends Mary Kay and Marianne in New Bern did the framing for me. They own a wonderful framing shop there.

This was the original light fixture that came with the house. Everyone in our neighborhood has the same light fixture. So, since I'm taking my house from "Builder Grade" to "HomeMayd," I had David install the light you see in the photo above. It came from Ballard Designs. I love the simple forged iron look and the check chain cover.

After having white cabinets for 14 years, I decided to go with ebony cabinets this time. They aren't pure black, but more like espresso beans.

We added our own knobs to the cabinets. I found these on Wayfair.

Of course, my kitchen wouldn't be finished without my Harrington and Hannah hand-painted soap dispenser, which was created for me by my talented friend, Natasha. I treasure this piece so much.

This is Bob and Larry, the buffet bunnies. hee, hee, hee. They enjoy serving up some tasty vegetables to our guests. I found them at Pottery Barn last year when I was out shopping with Lydia.

Like many of us I don't have a house phone anymore, but I couldn't resist buying this old phone I found on Ebay. I think it's fun in the kitchen and reminds me of days gone by.

I love the way the light comes in this space. What do you think?

Light, love and hugs to you,
Michelle

One of those pictures is hung a tad crooked .... not telling which one.

26471 .. that was our phone number with one of those phones as a little kid. We had a parakeet. Every time the phone rang he would sing out - 26471! 26471!! (My big sister would sing out - "It's for me, I'll get it."

I've always been partial to dark kitchen cabinets so love your choice with the perfect handles to finish it

What a wonderful update. Things are back to looking so very positive. By the way your shutters are terrific. The dark cabinets look great with the cream and white. Expected nothing less with your wonderful vision. Enjoy.
