Counting our Blessings - January's Blessing

Happy New Year! Woo hoo!

I'm so excited to kick off this new year with lots of positive, happy and fun energy! I decided 2015 was going to be a year of focusing on our many blessings. There is so much beauty and good in the world. All we have to do is take a moment to stop, breathe and be grateful for all the many gifts, such as friendships, that we are given.

So, here is January's Blessing. It is the first of six "Blessings of the Month." The new blessing will be available the first Thursday of each month until June.

(Special thanks to my wonderful stitching assistant, April Taylor, for stitching each of the blessings.)

I am half Irish and half German. Each blessing will feature an "Irish Blessing"

and my Folk Art Fusion (reverse wool applique and embellishments) inspired by German folk art.

Each blessing will be its own individual project. No two will be alike. You can make one or make them all. No pressure to keep up like a traditional block of the month, no falling behind and no sign ups! Plus, the projects are small enough you can complete them quickly.

Inspiration for these blessings came from my long time fascination and love of samplers and German Frakturs.

They are made and given from the heart and they add such a warm and charming touch to a home.

In addition, you asked and I listened! Many friends have emailed me over the last year saying it was getting harder and harder to find supplies to make projects. In addition to brick and mortar quilt shops disappearing, people have become more cautious with their pennies. The days of purchasing and storing tons and tons of fabrics and supplies for the one day that we "may or may not make something with them" are gone. Friends prefer to purchase kits for the project they want to make.

Also, everyone has limited time these days and there is nothing more frustrating than sitting down to make something and realizing you don't have some of the supplies. So, I am offering COMPLETE KITS. These kits will contain all the materials, thread and even the needle to make the project! In addition, it will contain the pattern! All of it will come in your very own "Bunny Box." You can take your project along with you and work on it whenever you have a chance.

The kits also make wonderful gifts to give to your creative friends.

Of course, if you only need the pattern, you can get that too! Patterns alone will be available as PDF instant downloads.

So are you ready to get stitching?

Your friendship and support of my small business is a true blessing. Thank you so very much!

Here's to a fun and happy year together!

Light, love and blessings to you,
Michelle, the Bunnies and Sabrina too!

Good morning dear, dear sister! I first have to tell you that I went on FB yesterday, which is rare for me, but I saw a photo of some cousins. And my beautiful cousin Michelle was in one of the photos and I can't tell you how much YOU TWO RESEMBLE EACH OTHER! WOW!

OK, so yesterday, I had a perfect day. It was sunny, I was sitting on my velvet couch (Yeah, I'm spoiled) and read and read to my heart's delight. Then I thought, "I am going to do so STITCHING!" HAHHAHAH! It got cloudy and dark, and I realized I don't have the right scissors to cut my felt! I also am going to have Ruben order me some bunny scissors from your shop.

I love how you are focusing in on the blessings. The time it takes to stitch will be quiet time to take to really think about those words we choose to sew. WRiting, no matter with pen, computer keys or needle and thread, is a delicious moment of play. How I adore your work, you and what you stand for.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! Anita

OK. Sometime, somehow - when a design suits my fancy - I shall order up a kit and actually make it!

No rule against that is there?

Hi Shell! I, too, love the Pennsylvania German look...obviously that's why I do the papercutting. This is a wonderful representation of same, using your folk fushion. The kits are a great idea and packaged so perfectly. I am pretty sure you will have a successful year with all your great ideas!

Hola Michelle
