New Art in Bunnyville

Hi ya!

Today I wanted to share some fun new art in Bunnyville (my studio).

First, every year I purchase an original piece of art as a present to myself. I prefer something hand crafted and would rather support a fellow artist than have something "mass produced" in China. The older I get, the idea of "making" a home is more appealing to me than just "decorating" a home.

So, the artist I chose to purchase from this year is the incredibly talented Jo James of Cart Before the Horse. I asked Jo to make me a Bunny Fairy. That was the only thing I said.

I knew her imagination would come up with something wonderful and I wasn't disappointed!

Isn't she fantastic?!?

I have placed her on my Grandmother's hutch in Bunnyville along with other pieces I treasure. Do hop over and visit Jo on her blog and in her Etsy shop. I know you will enjoy your visit very much. Tell her me, the Bunnies and Sabrina said hi!

Next, I want to share this wonderful surprise from my mom. This is my Grandmother's doll quilt. It is 97 years old! My mom had it framed for me. When I look at it, I think about how things use to be so  simple. Girls would have a doll and a doll quilt and treasure them.

I think my new pieces are a wonderful addition to Bunnyville. They make me smile every time I look at them. Thanks Jo and Mom!

xx,
Michelle, the Bunnies and Sabrina kitty too

How awesome is that! Both the bunny fairy as well as your grandmother's doll quilt. You are lucky to have the link to your heritage... and it looks beautiful on your studio wall!
Hugs to you and the buns and Sabrina!!!

I have always admired "The Cart before the Horse". You are one lucky lady to be able to purchase one of her treasures. Wish my sewing room looked as neat as your studio.

HERE HERE. I believe in HOMESPUN! Or should I say, HOMEBUN? Either way, supporting our fellow citizens here is what I'm about too, or making it myself. A sweet bunny fairy to protect all the furry friends inside and out. OH! And I saw a new rabbit in our garden last night! Her name is MOON FLOWER....teeeeheeee

HAPPY MONDAY, SHELL!

Hoppy Monday to you and the bunns and sweet Ms Sabrina :-)
Your treasures are so beautiful. And your creating space is so clean! What a lovely place to start your week! I hope all is going well with the cat and bunny mixture. I have been so happy seeing your home being such a safe place for those kitties to be nurtured and sent on to loving homes. Sabrina is a treasure all on her own. =^.^=

I think my sister dressed up about like that once! Did well with the Trick-or-treats! You need more shelves and walls!

Very neat and meaningful items .. about 24 years from now you will need a nice big dining table with comfy chairs and big teapot so all the visitors can sit and be regaled by your stories about each item!

Beautiful Bunny Fairy! It's got so many interesting features.
Isn't it amazing how girls would actually cut and sew tiny blocks of fabric for a doll? Michelle I am stealing your quote about how simple things used to be when girls played with dolls. It is a mindset that is sadly and sorely missed. Hopefully, it won't disappear altogether and that we allow little girls to keep heir nurturing nature, even when chasing outside pursuits.
