Week 18 is here. This week the cone flower returns.
This flower is one of three flowers which will be used in our August project. This time I used fabric in the petal section and wool on the top. I liked it. :)
Note: even though it will be one of three flowers, you don't necessarily have to make all the colors the same.
Have I confused you yet?
It will be one project, but 3 different variations. I'm thinking ahead for Christmas gifts. ;)
I used color O531 from the pearl cotton collection, French knots and a back stitch.
Now onto our April project!
Since many of my friends are outside working in their yards and enjoying the beautiful weather, I decided that the next few months of projects will be quick and easy. This month I made a candle mat. It took me a little over an hour to complete and that was with taking photos and making notes for writing the instructions.
Now mind you, if you don't have your flowers done, it will take longer. ;)
I think this will make a nice gift for Mother's day or a hostess gift for a party.
Simply pair it with a candle and you are all set! You know this candle is my favorite don't you? hee, hee, hee.
Friends in the Fellowship will receive instructions for this project by 6:00 p.m. EST. If you do not receive them, please email me.
The bunnies and I would love to have you join us. Click on the tab at the top of the blog for details. Remember, you can join anytime between now and December. I also have pearl cotton and wool kits available in my SHOP.
Hugs and have fun!

Guild Meeting Show and Tell
Another wonderful guild meeting this month. These gals are so much fun to hang out with. Here's the show and tell from the meeting.
Jackie brought this pretty chevron quilt. I looooooooove the flip flop fabric! Fun!
She was also at my Folk Art Fusion play date. Instead of making a wall hanging, she made a pillow. LOVE IT! So cute with the polka dot fabric.
She brought a critter kiddo quilt
and a second one too!
The she showed us this embroidered quilt.
Hello little bug. So cute!
Barbara was also at the play date and made her teapot into a pillow too. The rick rack around the edge is wonderful and
check out the fabric for the back. Great job Barbara!
Barbara and Jackie were over achievers this month. Here Barbara shows the "What's in your jar" quilt.
This quilt reminded me of those color blocked dresses I've been seeing in the fashion world. So hip and modern.
Speaking of clothes, Lolita showed us a jacket and skirt she made. Oh how I want to learn to make clothes. These were beautiful.
Carol showed her play date quilt. Clever lady used a clothes hanger to make a hanger and hung the teacups with earrings! Fun! Sending out congratulations to Carol as well for being selected to be on the board for NCQSI. This year quilt symposium will be in my favorite town, Wilmington!
Linda shared this totally cool gadget with us. It's made by Crayola and available in Walmart. It's a portable light tablet. This is perfect for taking to classes. It uses batteries. They are normally around $15, but it was on sale for $9. Sweet!
Charlene loves her men. Snowmen that is! Here she shares a recent finish.
Bonnie shared this beautiful commission quilt she made. It features gorgeous oriental fabrics. It was huge!
Kathie brought her project from our play date too. I love how looks with her dress. Kathie's profession was that of a silhouette artist (HOW COOL IS THAT!!). Needless to say, she was a pro at cutting out these intricate shapes from the wool.
She also brought this churn dash quilt she finished.
Hope you enjoyed this show and tell. Have a super fun week. I'll see you back here on Wednesday for the next Fellowship of the Flowers project. I can't wait to show you!

Hoppy Friday!
Hoppy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful week. This week so many things made me happy.
First a gift from my very talented and dear friend Jules of Adventures in Thread. She made this wonderful lingerie bag for me to use when I travel. She made the rabbit stencil and painted it.
She then added these little rabbit charms on it. LOVE IT! Jules is forever spoiling me. Love you Jules!
I received two handwritten thank you notes from customers who enjoyed their purchase and play date with me. It was so nice of them to take the time to write a note of thanks. It made me smile big to know that I made them smile big! :) Thank you Dolores and Lori!
These beautiful, metal ornaments came from my adopted family, The Bloomsterbergs, in Denmark. I'm going to keep them out all year and then put them on my Christmas tree. I love them so very much and love my little Danish family too! Hugs to you Susanne, Rune, Sofie Amalie and Marie Louise.
Papa Goose is taking a nap while Terrance Turtle keeps watch. Papa is very tired. He is anxiously awaiting for Mama Goose to have the new peeps.
Spring is here and my morning walks are glorious bursts of life and color. These azaleas are stunning.
So are these. I love the green of the iris leaves next to the red of the azaleas.
The green of this magnificent tree next to the blue of our Carolina blue skies is so striking and calming at the same time.
This tiny patch of clover, growing in a crack in the sidewalk, really made me smile. See the little snail? What a magical world he must live in beneath the clover.
The spot between Hannah's ears is so incredibly soft. I love to bury my face in there, give her kisses and tell her she is the sweetest girl ever!
Harrington is the softest bunny I have ever had. Even though in the photos he looks black, he is actually dark chocolate brown with black highlights. hee, hee, hee. His fur is like silk and he has the fattest little cheeks. I could pet him for hours.
Friday night means my homemade, Mediterranean, vegetarian pizza. This is how it looks before I bake it. Lots of spinach, arugula, sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, cremini mushrooms, mozzarella, goat cheese, basil pesto and a whole grain pita as the crust. It's sooooooooooo good and healthy too! Captain and I normally have these while the fellas eat regular pizza.
Finally this week I'm happy because even when there is something really stressful going on, if I turn on the music and dance like a crazy bunny, my worries will go away. I dance in the house, I dance in my chair, I dance in the car and I even dance in the grocery store.
So, what made you happy this week?

Fellowship of the Flowers week 17
Hopping, hopping, hopping right along. Are you still with me?
The flower this week is the only one which will be used in our May project. See, no pressure. One little ole' flower.
This week I used color P5 from the pearl cotton collection and the gold yarn from the Bon Bons I got from Michaels Arts and Crafts.
When choosing the fabric for the background, make sure you have at least a fat quarter of it. You will need it for our project. :) :) :)
Remember, you can join us anytime! Click on the tab at the top of the blog for more information.
I know many of you are getting ready to work in your flower gardens. As for me, I can't grow anything but ivy so I will continue on with these flowers. hee, hee, hee.
Hugs and see ya back here Friday!

Color inspiration and a Sneeky Peeky
Hi ya! Hope you had a wonderful Easter. It was soggy, cloudy and windy in my little part of the world. A perfect day to stay home and design a new Folk Art Fusion piece!
Here's a little sneeky peeky of my progress so far. I am combining elements from two of my previous stitchery designs.
I will admit I am a bit of an addict when it comes to Pinterest. Talk about hopping down the rabbit hole! hee, hee, hee.
One of my boards is called Color Palate. Here I pin photos of color combinations which intrigue me.
Recently, I have been drawn to the way orange and teal harmonize together. It's so pretty and calming to me.
Needless to say, I was thrilled to find "Perfect Pairings" fat quarters by Kim Diehl. I purchased these from Shabby Fabrics. They will be used in this Folk Art Fusion piece.
I hope to have this pattern ready for you by Summer. I know, I know, but Summer will be here before you know it and it really does take a long time to design, write, not to mention make the piece. Then to photograph it and send all the stuff to the graphic designer. Yep, Summer it will be. :)
So what have you been working on?
