Happy New Year! Woo hoo! I'm so excited to spend every Wednesday for the next 50 weeks with you! We are going to have so much fun!
My word for 2014 is Inspire. My goal with Fellowship of the Flowers is to inspire you to create, experiment, play and be free from rules. I want you to have something fun and happy to look forward to each week. You deserve it! :)
Our first flower in the Fellowship is the tulip.
I used the running stitch and a stab stitch. Super easy to do.
I couched sparkly yarn around the edges and added some bling with beads.
These are the Valdani pearl cotton colors I used.
The sparkly yarn I got at Michaels Arts and Crafts. They come in a package called Bon Bons. The beads I got at Walmart. The fabric came from my stash. This is going to be a great way to use up scraps this year.
A little hint. This flower is one of three which will be used in the project at the end of the month. So, if you want to plan a color scheme, now is the time or you can make a scrappy look. You are the artist on this adventure, so have fun and play!
The bunnies and I would love for you to spread the word to your friends, family and guild members about joining the Fellowship. Grab the button from the sidebar if you like.
Remember you can join any time, but only friends in the fellowship will receive the flower patterns and instructions, as well as, the 12 monthly projects. In addition, I am available to answer any questions you may have.
The wool kits will be available all year
and the thread kits too.
Next week I will tell you how to join the groups to share your flowers. So until then...what will your flower look like this week?
Lastly, I invite you to hop over to my Facebook page, LIKE it and leave a comment. One lucky person will receive a signed copy of my book and a pair of bunny scissors!
xx,
Michelle and the Bunnies

Looking forward to sewing our first flower! I don't know the first thing about using beads as embellishments... Can you recommend a tutorial?
Whoo, 2014 is indeed going to be fun, especially being part of the Fellowship of the flowers. My word of the year is "Forward" and that fits for the adventure you have created for us. Looking forward. Thank you.
I thought I left a comment here earlier but it is not here. I know I saw it. I just wanted to say how much I was looking forward to this group. But AM wondering what happened to my comment!
This sounds like a fun sew along and it will be fun to see what you and others make.

Happy New Year Shell, David, Harrington and Hannah! I hope 2014 brings many wonderful things your way.
Congrats on the fellowship of the Flowers Shell... such a wonderful idea, and the first design is just beautiful. I'm glad it is available for joining anytime - I hope to hop in in a month or two!
I put together my first tulip. It is cut and fused onto the black hexagon. Now are we supposed to start stitching too?
I am so glad I have pretty much all the supplies I need in my stash. These projects are going to be great "stashbusters" for me. Thank you so much for designing these projects.
The tulip looks great. I may need to sign up for this........
