The rest of the time I worked on Folk Art Fusion(TM) pieces.
I'm delighted to show you my finished "Blooming Hearts" piece. Remember I said there would be a little bit more? Well, notice the borders? They are not attached in a traditional method. They are free standing. All the pieces in my new book, "Fabled Fusions" will be like this. I'm looking forward to teaching you how to do this. It's so fun!
I have been quilting since 1989. In 2006 I got involved with some art quilts and actually had several of my art quilt pieces published in a book and magazines. This method kinda combines my love of both traditional and art quilting. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle of both. :)
Here's a little sneaky peek of another piece. This one is called "Butterfly Breeze." I got one of them stitched. I can't wait to show you more.
Well, have a good week. Go out and do something creative. I hope you have sunny, happy skies in your little corner of the world.
xx,
Michelle and the Bunnies

Wow the difference between the stitched and unstitched butterflies is amazing. Wonderful job. Love the concept of the other piece with the floating edges.

Thanks for showing the two butterflies one embellished and the other ready to be embellished.
It really is a good example of how much the stitching really adds to a piece.

Your new pieces of art are beautiful. Free standing borders sound like they really offer lots of possibilities. Hearts and Butterflies are my favorites...
