Happy Friday Bunny Humor

There is nothing worse than someone trying to chat with you while you're going poo poo on the potty.

Unless, of course, it's someone who thinks it's funny that someone is chatting with you while you're going poo poo on the potty and takes a picture to post on her blog so all the world can see! Mama!

Happy Friday.

What to do with Wool Scraps

Hi there! Hope you had a fantastic weekend and wonderful Thanksgiving. Many thanks to you for celebrating Small Business Saturday and Sunday with me and the bunnies.
Now it's on to Christmas fun and festivities!

The other day I was looking at this big ol' pile of wool scraps and thinking about what to do with them. I save all my little bits of wool felt because even the tiniest of pieces can be used for something. I have found several fun projects to use up these little scraps. I'll share them with you over the next couple of weeks.

This first project, designed by Cynthia Ann Dubbers, came to my email today from Cloth Paper Scissors magazine. I love this magazine and get their newsletter updates. There are always lots and lots of fun things to create.

Even though these topiaries are made from fabric scraps, I thought they would be just as lovely with wool felt scraps. Hop over HERE to Cloth Paper Scissors for the instructions.  Wouldn't they be wonderful for folks in senior centers or hospitals who need a little holiday cheer?

If you don't have wool felt scraps, you can always start building your wool collection. I have lots of colors in my SHOP.

Have fun! :)

She took my logo and the bunny on my blog and created these wonderful punchneedle coasters just for me! Woo hoo! Happy bunny dance!

Missie is also a designer with Valdani and uses their threads in her work.
Here are some more of her punchneedle designs.

The Curve of Cuteness

Mama say's "You two are just pure 'T' cuteness. How am I suppose to get anything done with all that cuteness going on?"

We can't help it. We try our best to distract her from her work. After all, it's really all about us. One of our favorite things to do are the "cuteness curve poses." They get her every time.

For example.
The double, right faced, soft, cuteness curve.

The reversed crescent curve.

The reverse, back, curve with leg extension.

And finally, the I can't believe she penned us up pouty curve. Does she really need to sew? So what if we tried to chew the foot petal cord on the sewing machine? It's fair game when it's in our space. Geesh.

Happy Friday!

The Adventures of Harrington and Hannah November Block

Almost done! I'm going to be so sad when it's all over. This has been so much fun for me! :)

This month Harrington and Hannah know that handwritten notes are always sent from the heart.

I was inspired to create this block as I still love to give and receive snail mail. Knowing someone took the time to handwrite a note always warms my heart.

Here's how they all look so far. Fun huh?

Remember, the patterns are FREE and you can still hop in and get started.

There are floss, fabric and wool kits back in the SHOP.

Many thanks to you for supporting my little business. The bunnies and I truly appreciate you.

Hop on over and get this month's block. The bunnies will see you back here tomorrow.

xx, Michelle

Vintage Folk Art

I spotted this adorable piece of vintage folk art on Ebay a while back. I just had to have him. I love collecting unique pieces of bunny art.

Isn't he adorable? His wheels move and everything!

When I took him out of the box, I set him on the table for a second while I disposed of the box and wrappings. When I came back and looked at him, I couldn't help but think he was talking to my other bunny.

"So...do you come here often? How would you like to go for a ride? I've got my own wheels."

I know. I know. I'm a total dorkwad. I can't help it. David say's I need medication. hee,hee,hee.

Here's where he ended up. He's in the foyer, but he can still keep an eye on his lady friend in the living room. Who knows. Maybe they go for late night drives around the house when all is quiet. ;)

Have a happy and fun day. Spread some smiles, especially to our veterans. We thank you.

Happy Friday!

What's that you say? It's Friday again? You're kidding?

Mama's been so busy trying to catch up on paperwork that she hasn't had much time for anything else. She's also having problems with her hand and fingers. They keep locking up and she can hardly type much less stitch. Not good! She's been trying to rest it, but that's not easy with her work.

She is excited about the next block in "The Adventures of Harrington and Hannah" which will be out next Thursday. I must say they are all looking very nice. She has the floss and wool kits back in stock.

So what have you been working on? Are you starting to get ready for Christmas? Remember today is the last day to purchase Mama's "Folk Art Fusion Floss Collection" and get the "Hans and Holly" pattern for FREE.

Mama wants to thank her friend Joanne May for sending her this little bunny all the way from England. She say's he has my ears.

What do you think?

Happy Friday!
xx, Harrington

Another piece of handmade

I just had to have it! I couldn't pass it up! It was just soooooooooooooooo darn cute!

This beautiful necklace was handmade by my dear friend, jewelry artist and talented illustrator, Joanne May.

Of course, one can never have too much bunny jewelry. hee, hee, hee. ;)  However, Jo does make lots of other stunning pieces. You can find them in her ETSY shop. You can also find her on FB and Twitter. Tell her we said hi!

I also had to purchase a set of her "Snow Hare" note cards. I'm still in love with giving and receiving snail mail. There's just something so special and heartfelt about receiving a card in the mail that is penned by the sender.

It's going to be Christmas soon and more than ever I want to give handmade gifts and support talented artists. How about you?

Floss Collection, New Pattern and a Giveaway!

Well, I'm just about caught up from being gone. Thank you so very much for your kind comments and support. It means the world to me. I should be back on schedule this week and hopping around to visit with you. I sure have missed my blog reading !

So today I'm thrilled to announce that Valdani asked me to create a thread collection!

It's called Folk Art Fusion collection. The threads I carry are the 3 strand floss, but it will soon be available in Pearle Cotton sizes 8 and 12.

This collection debuted at the Quilt Market along with my new Folk Art Fusion pattern,

Hans and Holly, the Christmas Elves. Hans and Holly love Christmas and are especially fond of jingle bells on their tree. This pattern was made with National Nonwovens wool (available in my shop), but it can also be made with cotton prints.

I'm so excited about this new floss collection and I want to celebrate with you! For one week only, today November 5, through November 9th at 10:00 p.m. eastern time, when you purchase my floss collection, you will receive the Hans and Holly pattern for FREE!

I have several of the tri stand hangers available in the shop too. They have been marked down 15%.

This floss collection will be used in my next book along with these wool colors. I can't wait to show you!

Thank you for celebrating with me! See you back here on Wednesday.

Return from Houston. Thank you Valdani!

Well, I've returned from the Houston Quilt Market. What an amazing time! This post may be a bit long. I have lots I want to share with you.

However, I must first start this post by sending light, love, and prayers to all my friends, customers, and people in the Northeast. I'm still in utter shock looking at the photos on TV. It's just so incredibly awful.

Here in eastern NC, there are hurricane's all the time. Last year was hurricane Irene. I was without power for six days. Many of my friends lost their homes and had extensive damage. My heart goes out to all those who are suffering right now.

Houston Quilt Market...what can I say? AMAZING! That's the best word. I made my first market friend, Jerilyn, in the Atlanta airport. She and I were destined to meet each other and I know we will stay in touch.

Twenty years of wanting to go to this show and I must say, it was all that I thought it would be and more. Here I am in the Valdani booth for my book signing. Of course I'm wearing my bunny jewelry, made especially for me, by my friend Jo May.

My first book sale brought me to tears. It was made before the show even opened to Ronald, the shuttle bus driver, for his Mama, Louise. Ms. Louise had quilted her entire life, but is now very ill with diabetes and can no longer quilt or travel much. Ronald asked me to autograph my book for his Mama. I was incredibly honored to do so and now my first book sale at market will always be a most cherished memory.

This is the view from my hotel. My room was on the 22nd floor. I kept saying, "Country has come to town for sure!" hee, hee, hee. I've never been in a city this large. I found the people to be so very kind and helpful.

I will admit that most of my time was spent in total disbelief that I was actually at market. Me, the little bunny lady from North Carolina, surrounded by the rock stars of the quilting world. Here is Sue Spargo, her daughter Kelly and her sister (I think) setting up their booth. Dana, of Valdani, introduced me to Sue. Sue went to shake my hand and I told her, "Oh no. I want to get a hug from my idol!" She laughed. I also had her autograph one of her books for me.

This is one of Sue's quilts, which hung in the Valdani booth. She uses lots of Valdani threads in her work.

Here's more detail. Stunning isn't it?

While chatting with a customer, I glanced over to see Robyn Pandolph in the booth! Oh...my...gosh! I just had to get my picture made with Robyn!

I am a huge fan of Robyn's. When I taught quilting classes, I made quilt after quilt using her fabrics. My students were in love with them just as much as I was.

In fact, this quilt was made in 2000 and it still hangs in Bunnyville today. Robyn will have a Valdani thread collection go with her new fabric line. Ooooooooooo boy! :)

Most of the time I was working in the booth, but when I did get a second to roam about the show, I made my way over to meet my friend, the incredibly talented, darling, down right sweet as can be, Gail Pan! I do love my Aussie girlfriends to bits! (I have no idea what I'm looking at in this photo. Shiney object?)

Gail and I swapped books and autographs with each other. Fun! One day I shall visit all my freinds in Australia for sure!  Love ya Gail!

Speaking of Aussie gals. I meet these delightful ladies in the hotel lobby. Louise, standing next to me, was so much fun to talk with. She is from iSewAcademy. It is an app that combines traditional crafts with multimedia technology. It was truly amazing to see. The blonde is designer, Sarah Fielke. She will be designing quilt projects for them. Fun! They gave me some Aussie candy, but you really didn't think I would be able to show you a photo of that did you? hee, hee, hee.

While chatting with Gail, this fun lady came up to me and said, "Are you Michelle from The Raspberry Rabbits?" I replied, "Yes, I am." She said, "I'm Tina and I love your blog and the bunnies!" I tell ya, I about passed out. I couldn't believe she recognized me, or even knew who I was. Tina is so much fun and I truly enjoyed meeting her. (I want to see your decorating Tina! :)

I also met several other friends that read my blog. Hi to Karen! Wish we could have visited longer.

This is only 1/4 of how large this show is. To have people recognize me, the little bunny in the great big forest, was beyond incredible.

Here's some of my quilts from my book in the Valdani Booth. Don't those little balls of floss and perele cotton just make you smile big? :)

Then here's "Peter and Peter are Pumpkin Eaters" in the National Nonwovens booth. Hi Chisten!

This was the showcase in the front entry. It was truly an honor to have my work displayed next to Sue Spargo and Carol Waugh.

My friend and fellow designer, Missie Carpenter of Hallbrook Designs, also had some of her gorgeous punchneedle patterns displayed in the booth. I told her she was lucky I didn't keep those coasters! Looooooooove them!

My sincere and heartfelt thanks to Dana and Daniela, of Valdani, for inviting me to be in their booth and to Carol, author of Stupendous Stitching for joining me for lunch and for giving me advice.

I will be doing the happy bunny dance for a very long time. :)

Have a fun weekend. Join me and the bunnies back here Monday for some very exciting news, a new pattern and a giveaway!

xx, Michelle and the Bunnies

p.s...Jerilyn remember "Failure is not doing it."  ;) Hugs!
