Happy Friday! Goose for Dinner???

"What did you say? What do you mean goose for dinner?"

"Oh this is just terrible. I can't believe it. Poor Papa Goose!"

"How could you Mama?"

"Wait a minute you two. Don't go getting all sad. You know I'm a vegetarian and I love all critters. Let me explain."

"You see, every night I invite Papa Goose over for dinner! Mama Goose is clear across the pond sitting on the nest and keeping the wee one's safe and warm."

"Every night I call for Papa Goose and he flys up to meet me."

"He's such a handsome fella. I love his magnificant wings and the noise they make as he flys."

"We have a lovely little chat about his day on the pond."

"Have a nice evening Papa Goose and give my regards to Mama Goose. I can't hardly wait to see the wee ones."

"I feel much better now Harrington. I bet the wee one's are going to be so cute!"

Happy Friday!

xx, Michelle, Harrington and Hannah  (oh and Papa Goose too!)

Heeheehee! LOVE those pictures! So very expressive. Those silly bunnehs should know by now that you couldn't hurt a fly. Happy, hoppy weekend!

I'm all for the care and feeding of Canadians.. :)

I'm sure you feed them wild goose/duck food instead of bread and things which are bad for them. (In a pinch, cheerios are probably the best "people food" for ducks and geese, but that's rather like feeding kids chocolate bars)

Now.. if you want to feed a cute Canadian with a habit for rescuing silly animals.. ;)

Shell when my mother was alive she loved all birds...all of them! She had some geese who lived on the pond down the hill and fed them every day just like this only in the morning. She lived with my sister and one of my sister's jobs was to keep the feeders full, and woe to her if they weren't. :) I was visiting my sister last week and thrilled to hear the geese honking each morning looking for breakfast - my sister has kept up the tradition. blessings, marlene

Wishing you and yours a great weekend!

That was a close call...I had a friend once whose goose came to the back door and pecked each morning so she'd throw out the leftover breakfast biscuits.

O I know how special that relationship can be because I too , had a Duce - the Goose who played with me. I Loved him dearly . When he was a "teenager' I took him with me to the creek and he fell madly in love as he played in the water. He picked a deep spot to dive in - as I stood anxiously by -no Duce-no Duce-(my brain was wondering IF a goose can drown???? - still -No Goose so I jumped in the water and reached down to feel for him at the exact same moment as he EXPLODED from under the water and we had a wet collision! But , it was worth it! LOL

I am so glad that you explained it to Harrington and Hannah LOL

Shell, that is amazing! Just be careful though, they are very powerful birds and can do a lot of damage with those wings if they get upset. Papa might get a little more aggressive when the 'young uns' are hatched. Great pictures, he is a very handsome Papa Goose!

Oh how cute. I can't believe Papa Goose is coming so close to you like that. How fun. He will surely feel like your yard is a safe place and lead those babies over to say hi. That will be so much fun........until you have an entire family making a mess in your beautiful yard. LOL Nah, they'll still be super cute.

I love this post. What a beautiful papa goose, and of course Harrington and Hannah! I just showed them to all the other nurses at work. We all agree that they are two cute bunnies - and love the carrot bowl!

A true new friend - shame Hannah and Harrington can't go out and play - they are so precious and probably do not want the competition!!! They know they are your special ones.

Be sure and drop by my blog tomorrow for the mini quilt table stand blog hop - my turn to post. Some fantastic and unique mini quilts are being shown. Judy C sends best wishes
