Work'in on it Wednesday

I'm having the best week! No reason in particular, just a fabulous week! How about you?

I got the borders put on this Folk-Art Fusion piece. I've quilted the background and now I'm hand stitching the borders. I love the hand stitching the most. I tend to get tense when I machine quilt the background. I have to do breathing exercises and keep telling my shoulders to "relax, relax, relax!" hee, hee, hee.

I'm not sure what I want to name this one. Any ideas?

Then, I got some new fabrics and new Valdani 3 strand floss. Can we say "LOVE IT!!"  My mind is going crazy with ideas for this. I'm gonna try to get some sketches done this weekend. I've got some wool coming too that will go perfectly with these. Happy Bunny Dance!

So what are you work'in on?

xx, Michelle

Hey Shell, The colors look kind of Halloweenish. Maybe give it kind of a Halloween name.

Michele Your wall hanging is simply gorgeous! I want to learn how to make one of your kits so bad. It is on my list of must do for the year maybe after the doll shows are done. I love the new colors I would like to try those colors on one of my new dolls. Have a great day and give the sweet Bunnies a hug for me
Peace and Blessings

Shell, I love the wall hanging and the flosses are gorgeous! The blue looks like a country blue to me and the other color looks like fields of wheat to me! I'm glad you are having a great week!

What a great color set! How about something like... oh rats! I can't think of anything! That is a toughie! But I love it. It reminds me a bit of a baltimore style with a modern twist.

Machine quilting makes me tense, too...

Pretty, pretty picture, although I have no clue as to a name for it.

At the moment, I am waiting on a shipment of yarn so I can get to work on a baby blanket (or two) for my cousin and his wife (who are expecting child #3 in April). I also need to find some yarn for a throw for a housewarming gift for friends of mine, so I'm hitting the local yarn shop today in hopes of inspiration. I'm going crazy without something to work on!

I just finished your bom and am anxiously awaiting installment # 2.

your wall hanging is beautiful, the flowers remind me a fucia plant. I think I spelled that correctly.

Glad you are having a wonderful week.

It's gorgeous Shell. I'm not very good at names for quilts. What about Peach Blossom? Not very good, I know! I'm sure you'll come up with a great name.

Names are the hardest part! Love the balance and energy of this quilt. I know what you mean about the machine quilting. Remember to take breaks every 20 minutes or so, if you can. I'm using some variegated Valdani machine quilting thread on my Butterfly UFO. I've never used it before. It makes a nice line.

I like the folk art design. Especially the pot. I am not very good at naming quilt patterns but I am sure someone will inspire you.

The wall hanging is wonderful but I really love the new blue and tan fabrics. Can you tell us from what line they are? Just gorgeous. Love the bunnies!

Your work is beautiful. I love the new fabrics and thread also! I don't have any great ideas for a name for your design. I am always nervous about machine quilting. I have to do some more practicing. I am working on a project called Winter Wonderland by Kaaren at The Painted Quilt. I am almost done.

Hi Shell - I choose the name "Punkin Pot." I have no idea why - it just came to me when I looked at your darling piece!! And your new threads are yummy!!! As are those fabrics hanging out with the thread!!

Dear Shell,

I love your Folk Art piece, the colours are so beautiful.
I should be down stripping the last of the wallpaper, off the lounge wall, but it is by far nicer visiting you dear friend and seeing what exciting things you are doing.
