Hi my friends! I sure have enjoyed sharing all these quilts with you. Isn't blogging such a fun way to travel without leaving home? Of course, I do recommend visiting this show if you can. You won't be disappointed. My goal is to get to the Houston show one year!

I love that little pieced block!
This was a bag created for the Hoffman Challenge. I thought it was so cool! A mermaid bag indeed!
I also love the dolls that are created for the Hoffman Challenge. I took these photos especially for my dear friend,
Jules of Adventures in Thread . Jules is an incredible doll maker and I think she should enter this challenge! Hint, hint, hint! :)
Little Bo Peep was my favorite. I love her face and her outfit. Plus I have this thing for sheep, goats and wool right now. If I didn't live in a neighborhood, I would have some sheep and goats and maybe a cute cow, oh and some fuzzy chickens and probably a donkey and ten more bunnies....ok...sorry, I get carried away with critters.
Anyway, there was a section set up with ladies spinning wool. I think it would be so fun to learn to do that. It looks so peaceful. I could spin some angora bunny fur! Yeah!
Well all this wool and creating with wool has taken hold of me this year. Maybe because it's been so darn cold this winter and I've been freezing for months! However, I do love the look and feel of wool and I have several new patterns in the works that will have wool. This brings me to the Grand Finale!
This incredible piece was made by Debora Konchinsky and was my most Favorite quilt of the entire festival!! I love everything about it. A combination of fabric, wool, hand embroidery, needle felting, quilting, beading! Oh my gosh!!!! I want to hang this in my house! I stood here for the longest time studying all the details. This one was really, really, hard not to touch!

Then I found out Debora is an instructor! Hello!!! If she is there next year, I will be signing up for a class with her!!
This is a look at her quilt displayed on instructor's row. This was my second favorite quilt of the festival. Ooooooooo.....ahhhhhh.....fuzzy!
I hope all of "ewe," hee,hee,hee, sorry I couldn't resist, had a good time on the tour with me and are inspired to get creating. I have lots of new patterns in the works and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you!

Thanks for sharing the quilt show Shell...it's been a lovely tour...so many awesome quilts....so much awesome talent...you were very restrained not to touch your favourite quilt...I want to pat it and that just won't work via a computer screen...I can only imagine how much more "pattable" it would be in real life...that sheep is just to cute...

I agree, those last two quilts just beg to be touched! Maybe she needs to have a touchable sample nearby! These would be fantastic quilts for introducing quilting to the blind.
And I'm pretty sure that the first quilt way back at the top of the post should be in my house. The colors are perfect!

Oh my that was an incredible tour and I really thank you for sharing all of these great works of art with us .I loved the landscape quilt in this group and the last two with all those animals and embellishments , wow , I am saying to myself , how did she do that ?Thanks so much !
Watch out little ones! Your mommy is going to shave you and use your beautiful fur in a quilt!

You absolutely saved the most incredible works for last! I love the wooly ones and the applique' on the others is so fabulous. And the dolls! (Remember, I can't make dolls?) I'm green with envy. Oh, and I don't want to forget the mermaid reticule!!! I want one!

WOW WOW WOW! I do liek to try to choose a favorite, but I can't find a favorite from today, yesterday, or the day before!!! I do especialyl like all of the ones with trees though. And the fuzzies :)
I love the last one, the crazy quilt...and the Fall & Winter scenes...so many beautiful ones.

Those are the only big shows I went to.

Thanks for taking us with you Shell, I had a friend when I was living overseas that planned her trips home to Texas around the Houston Quilt show. Her family would have to plan Thanksgiving and Christmas around it as she wouldn't be back for the holidays. I used to do quite a bit of small quilting but now I spin and knit.

Shell, those quilts at the Mid-Atlantic show were awesome!! I will never in my lifetime be able to make such gorgeous projects like that. I bet you loved the bunny! It was so very cute. Well, I'm off to try something new tonight, I'm going to try to sew on a card. Don't know how that will turn out, but I'll give it a try.

Oh ok girl friend--first when do we start the yarn spinning classes and our farm--but could we leave the cow out--they are bigger than me!!! I prefer the goats and want to learn to make goat cheese and butter--!!!!
oh boy as for the quilts go--I did like some of them--the last two here were great--but--you know I am afraid --which ones are still my favorite!!!

Man, soooo much talent. Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing so much! I love the dolls and the mermaid bag is gorgeous. I always wanted to spin and weave on one of those big looms, but I have a very strong feeling, weaving looms and cats do not mix will. LOL :)
