If you didn't have responsibilities.
If you didn't have to make money to pay bills.
If you could follow your bliss.
What would you do?
Or, are you already there?

Lady Hannah Goldenhare - Nothing Gold Can Stay
Hello dear friends, It's been a minute hasn't it? My last post was over a year ago. I decided I wanted to stay in my bubble where it...

Oh, boy, wouldn't that be wonderful!! I'd open up a vintage store but alas that will only be in my dreams or perhaps in miniature!

"Where ever you go, there you are."
Every day try to see, enjoy, and appreciate as much of "right now" as I can.
Anybody want an extra cat when they are all those things??
Wow, it is nice to dream isn't it? First off I would relax since I wouldn't have a specific schedule I need to follow. Second I would sew, quilt, sew, quilt and sew some more. :)
I must say that I am pretty much there. I taught for 35 years and had a wonderful time. I have been retired for 4 years and have had the chance to do lots of traveling and best of all, spending much time with family and friends. They are the best!
oh my...I would sit on the beach and feed the gulls...bury my toes in warm sand and lift my face to the salty breeze...and thank God for making such a beautiful world!
I would love to have my own Cross Stitch shop. There are not but about 3 in the whole state of Alabama. It is a dream of mine.
Hi Girlfriend;
My life is already pretty blessed. I think after years of having my shop, designing, and working hard, I'm content to do what I do now. To be able to come and go as I please, share my days with Kes and Handsome, craft to my heart's content...Yup, I think I'm pretty lucky to be able to say I'm where I want to be.
What a thought-provoking post you've written. I think it's good when we examine our paths. Thank you for posing the questions.
xoxo

PS. I think you, Margaret B and I would have a ball together!
I would volunteer at Farm Sanctuary for the rest of my life; play a lot of cello; cook and eat a lot of vegan food; rub the hubby's feet each day; sit with the animals and play play play :)
I would move to a climate suitable for year round gardening, and hopefully find a real neighborhood where caring and compassionate people reside. I currently live in a subdivision where people do not care to even know the names of their neighbors or interact in any way. It drives me more than slightly crazy! I think when we are surrounded by people we enjoy, most everything else in life will fall into place.
Sweet, inspiring post!
I have arrived! A tiny cottage in the woods, spending time with Hubby, time to draw and dream and walk in the woods. Retired, but living life with wings!!! :)
Wishing you a wonderful day!
I'd def have to go with start a rescue. And since proximity to the job market wouldn't be a concern, I could move somewhere that I could get a lot of space, so maybe a rescue sanctuary.
Also, I'd really like to open a QUALITY pet supply store for exotics (NOT just dogs and cats). Because although hyou can buy designer dog clothing on almost any corner in my area, you can only buy hay at Petco or Petland, or ONE independent store in the village. When I kept reptiles, I could ONLY buy feeder insects for them at Petco or Petland. I myself have no problem shopping at the chain stores if they have what I know I need, but I think it's dangerous to have the blind leading the blind (aka misinformed corporate purchasing dept and staff advising the UNinformed public about what's ok for their rabbit/iguana/dragon/amphibian/chinchilla, etc). One of my pet peeves. There are lots of super high quality places to shop online, but I think it would be great for public education to have a storefront where you have proper salads for various pets for sale, and then even if people don't want to buy them, they can at least see, OK, this is what should be in there. And those who are too lazy to make their own can buy it from us daily/weekly/semimonthly, and we can way overcharge and support the rescue with that money, because this is Manhattan :)
Can you tell I've given this some thought? lol
I'd be running a small bed and breakfast in a beautiful part of the countryside, with my own studio for art and stitching, a lovely garden, dogs, chickens and bee hives. ( Oh and a computer room for himself!)x
Probably still make bears (which I love to do!) and draw and sketch and then go help the orphans in Ukraine, since they'll always be on my heart. And lots of other things. But I still need my fabulous day job and am so blessed to have one I've loved for nine years.
Great question, Shell...... if I only knew!!
But you did get me thinking about "what-ifs"
hugs

I would have a shop that would sell vintage plus new notions and fabrics and then teach classes, sell handmade items and kits. Someday...
While asleep, I often dream I can fly. But oftentimes I feel like my wings don't work in the daytime!
