Happy Friday! - The Peeps

Following up to last Friday's post  "Goose for Dinner."

They're here! They're here! Last Saturday Papa Goose brought the family by to meet me! Yippeee! I ran out to our nearest garden center and purchased some "proper" goose food. Thank you to the very kind, Lorna Appleby, for informing me that bread is Bad for Geese. It makes them anemic and they can die!

These photos were taken from my living room window. I didn't want to scare them and I didn't want Papa goose to attack me for being to close to them.

Such an adorable little family! I looooooooooove little fuzzy butts!

"Come on peeps. Eat all your breakfast so you'll grow up big and strong."

"Are you peeps listening to your Mama?"

"You two stop playing around and come over here. You were told to eat all your breakfast. Now sit here in 'Time Out' for 3 minutes."

"See what Papa does when you're being naughty? Your two Peeps have to sit in Time Out over there."

"How many more minutes Papa?"
"You Peeps still have two minutes."

"How many more---?"
"You still have one minute. Oh good grief, go back to your Mama and eat your breakfast!"

Happy Friday!

xx, Michelle, Harrington, Hannah, Mama and Papa Goose and the Peeps!

What great photos! We have lots of geese here by the river and I like to walk down by the Fish Hatchery but at this time of the year the geese don't like seeing me and really "yell" at me.

Just adorable!
At my parents home, years ago, there were ducks that would nest year after year in the rose bush beds. My kids (2 & 5yo at the time) were thrilled and delighted to see Grandpa gather the little ducklings in a box and then chase down the mom. We "launched" them a few blocks away at an inlet creek near their home. I should find those pics! This brought back wonderful memories... thanks, Shell. Happy Weekend!!!

Cute story Shell!

Loris - You can pick up wild duck/goose food at Petsmart. I'd imagine other pet stores would also carry some in the bird section.

Those goslings sure are cute little fluff balls! Thank you for sharing, Michelle!

Hi Shell, Your family is so cute and especially to bring them so close to the house. They seem to sense when they are somewhere they won't be bothered. The babies are precious. Hugs from your Missouri Friend.

Hi Shell:
You're so good to your geese! It will be fun for you to watch them grow up (even if your yard does get a little...ahem...messy).
Happy Weekend!

Oh those are just too cute. See there ~ I knew they'd be back.

Just a little hint ~ you may not want to be wandering your yard barefoot this summer. HA

Awwww! How wonderful to be visited by geese! I hear them at certain times of the year as they are flying by enroute to their next home for the season.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos. Ellyx

Adorable! We actually had ducks at our old house and it's bringing back memories of baby ducks and my kids when they were little... sigh. xo

When the kids were little, we had a couple of geese. They were fun, but were always trying to bite the dogs tail....grin.

These are really beautiful. I didn't know about the bread either.

The "no bread" is also applicable to ducks as well. We give them cracked corn (found in any pet store) when we feed them.
