Rabbit Hunting

Yesterday I went rabbit hunting.
"What!?! Have you lost your mind?!?

Oh don't worry Harrington, you know Mama's a vegetarian.

I went with my friend, Bridgette, to some antique and flea malls in Selma, NC. I like to shop in stores like that to find gifts for friends and things for my home as there are so many unique treasures waiting to be found. Plus I think it's cool to give old things a new home.

So, here's my loot! hee,hee,hee.

First I found this! Isn't it cool? I've never seen a crystal dish with a bunny head on it before. It's perfect for keeping my rings in at night. (I can't sleep with jewelry on.)

Next I found this. I do love Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny! I'm going to put my colored pencils in this.
Then I found cute little dish.
It even has a carrot inside!
Then there was this sweet little ornament. She's just so cute in her bloomers!
This little fella was made in Russia! I liked his orange eyes and nose. He looks a little grumpy, but not mean. I don't buy rabbits with mean eyes.
How about a bunny paperweight?
I've seen lots of these bunnies that are blue, but this is the first green one I've seen.
And this fella is so cool! He's a Lefton. He was in a locked case with lots of dogs and cats. I betcha he as glad to get outta there! hee, hee, hee.
Isn't this such a fun pin? Love their tales! Bridgette found this for me.

Of course, I had to have this adorable ornament!

And finally, when I saw this piece, I just about passed out on the floor! I could hardly breathe! I kept saying, "oh my gosh...oh my gosh...oh my gosh!" This didn't come from the flea market though. I found this last Wednesday at Anthropologie. I was with my friend, Lyd, and she said I looked so funny when I was hugging it and walking around the store. It was pricey, but it's one of those pieces that I know I will have forever. It's a pretty big soup tureen, but I'm going to use it on my dining room table as a center piece instead of using it for soup. I luuuuuuuvvvvvvvvvv it!! Happy bunny dance!

I had the best time rabbit hunting. Which one is your favorite?

Very successful bunny hunting. I love the soup turreen, too gorgeous to only bring out when you are having soup. The dish with the bunny on the handle & carrot inside is very cute too. But what with a bunny on it would not be cute? Nothing for wee Harrington to worry about. Tracee xx

Shhhhhhhhh...be vewwy vewwy quiet...you've been huntin' wabbits....huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh! :D

Wow, nice haul! I wish I could go wabbit huntin' and find cool bunny stuff, but my house is filled to the brim with it already, so I have to hold off for a while (at least until I can properly organize what I have already, anyway).

The dish with the bunny on the handle and a carrot inside is Bunny Toile, I believe; I have that pattern in a pitcher, bowl and platter, so I am very jealous that you have this awesome dish. :)

I have two of the "fishnet" bunnies (I think that's what they're called) in blue. You are so lucky to find one in green!

I love the tureen too but my favourite is the first one - Sir Harrington. White bunnies just don't look the same to me after first meeting him!

My favorite would be the adorable photo of the rabbit with one ear up and one ear down. I think he's your best find! ;)

Okay, so back to your flea market finds, great stuff!! I think my favorite is the bunny ornament with the fallen over bucket and birdies. The soup tureen is gorgeous, but probably out of my league. I have something similar looking. It has no handles though. A friend gave it to me. It had a big crack in the back on the lid, but it's in the back so who cares! I have never used it for food. I'm not sure what I will do with it as I don't have a place to display it... yet. I love it because of the rabbit on the lid. :D

Have a bunny-rific day!

My favorite is the soup tureen. Whenever I see anything with a bunny on it, I think of you, Shell! Needless to say, I think of you often!

What sweet finds! I'd have to say that adorable Harrington is the best :-) But the green and white bowl with the handle and the soup tureen are going to be very fun for you to use. I enjoy several bunnies around my home too as well as a cement one in the yard.
Good hunting!

You did really well in this haul. My favorite has to be the ornament. My sister is the bunny collector in my family. I collect sewing ornaments and pins. Well, anything sewing related...antique tools, machines, etc.
I just acquired my mother's small shoe figures. I love them.

I love the little dish with the bunny on the handle. So cute. I go Scottie hunting on my treasure shopping. I just got my thread today. I just want to say how sweetly you had it packaged, all tied up with a ribbon and a pretty pencil gift. That and your sweet note made my day. So sorry I cannot use it until after Christmas just too many projects started and some gifts that need to be finished. You have a wonderful evening!

Love your shopping Shell, and I think I love the green bunny best. It reminds me of Lady Hannah....looking all mysterious and hugging a secret all to herself.

Oh Dear--I think you don't have room for all those new bunnies and not think of the 'food bill' for them all--so I think one or two should come and live with me and Miss Gracie!!!!!
LOve every single treasure you found--great job of bunny hunting!!!

Wow, I can't pick a favorite. They are all special! What great finds.
I love the photo of Harrington with one ear up and the other down. Bunnies really are fun to watch. My favorite is when they do the happy jumps!

Okay, that little dish with the carrot inside...I have the same pattern but it is a tea pot,cup and saucer. Love it.

I also have Herend rabbits, different color. They have gold noses and feet and it says Herend Hungary on the bottom.

I have to try not to buy too many rabbits, but it's hard to resist the really good ones!

Hard to pick a favorite but it would have to be the dish with the green carrot inside and the bunny outside. Sweet!
