Hi ya! Oh my gosh I can't believe how fast the last week went! What a fabulous time this little bunny had in Houston at the Quilt Market. I forgot to tell you to check my FB page for updates. When I travel, it's much easier for me to post to FB than it is to write a blog post. So, you may have seen these photos already if you follow/Like my FB page. Also, please forgive some of these photos. Camera's on the phone really do stink, but it is what it is.
I was honored and delighted to be the guest of Valdani threads. As you know, I use Valdani in all of my work. Can we say LOVE! Pretty much, I was in the booth every day doing book signings and meeting/hugging as many friends as I could! My hat received many good comments and lots of odd glances. I love to watch the expression on people's faces when I smile and say, "Hi!" while I'm wearing my hat. Cracks me up! Let's just say that I embrace my inner dorkiness and I really don't care if people get me or not. ;)
This is Daniela and Dana of Valdani. These two ladies work very hard and are so very good to me. Not mention, they are such a joy to spend time with. Hello my friends! Thank you for everything! :)
You know I did the happy bunny dance to get my photo with the fabulous, Anne Sutton, of Bunny Hill Designs. She was there introducing some new fabric. oooooooooooo yeah! She also has a thread collection with Valdani which coordinates with her fabric lines.
I signed up for all three of Jo Packham's classes. I have admired this woman forever. Like forever!!! She is the editor of Where Women Create, Where Women Cook, Where Woman Create Business and so many books I can hardly keep track. All I can say is.... SHE ROCKS!!! She signed my copy of the premier issue of Where Woman Create, which I have had since 2008. I was sooooooooooo excited! Happy bunny dance! It's on my wish list to have Bunnyville be in this magazine one day. hint, hint, hint....JO! ;)
Jo had a panel of guest speakers each day. It was awesome to listen to the ever so talented, Kaari Meng of French General. She is super nice and so down to earth. I loved hearing about her journey. Then, the absolutely incredible, Nancy Soriano, former editor of Country Living Magazine. Oh... my...gosh! Nancy was on the panel for each of the three classes. This lady has accomplished so many things in her career. She is ever so kind, soft spoken and also super nice. Nancy now has her own consulting business. She is such an inspiration.
Eileen Hull was also on the panel the first day. She stopped by the booth later and we had such a great chat. I can't believe I forgot to get a photo!!! Too busy chatting! Eileen is designer with Sissix. She's one of those people you feel like you've known your entire life as she's so easy to talk to. Kicking self in the butt for not getting photo with her! Dag!
Hellooooooooooooo Lynette Anderson from Australia! You know how I do looooooooove my Aussie girlfriends and dream of going their one day! Lynette's designs are so fun and make me smile big! She is awesome!
My dear friend, Jeanne Delpit. I met Jeanne when I was taping for Quilting Arts TV. She is the Educational Specialist for Bernina. What can I say? I know we will be friends forever. She is soooooooooooo nice, warm and super happy. Plus, she has the most fabulous clothes! Jeanne makes you feel so good just standing next to her. I was really happy to get to have breakfast with this busy lady. Love you Jeanne!
I just realized I didn't get a photo with my blogging friend Tay!!! My bunny brain get's on overload after 10 hours straight. Tay drove into town just to meet me. She even got me a Starbucks latte! Thank you Tay! Love you and so happy I got to meet you!
When I'm traveling, I start my journey off with some yummy food and end my journey with something yummy too. I got this on the first night. Homemade chocolate truffle on a homemade shortbread cookie. There were three of them and yep, I ate them all! Woo hoo!
I never have time to visit booths since I spend most of my time working, but I was able to grab a quick photo of this booth from Timeless Treasure. Isn't it a riot? Oh how I love imagination!
This is a sweet little cat I met on my walk from the convention center to the hotel. We had a delightful conversation. He told me I was a rather odd looking bunny, but agreed we could be friends. I can't say the bird in the tree was going to be as lucky at making a friend. ;)
What a wonderful adventure down the rabbit hole it was.
My book has been picked up by Checkers Distributing. If you are a shop owner, you can purchase it from them along with my Valdani floss collection. Of course, you can also purchase it from me directly and if you do, each copy will be signed.
The bunnies and I have many new designs in the works. We can't wait to share them with you and we thank you so very much for being a part of our adventures. It's truly wonderful to travel with friends. :)
In closing, I want to send a shout out to my mom and Oliver. Happy 5th anniversary to you both! We love you!
See ya back here on Monday.
xx,
Michelle and the Bunnies
