Hoppy Friday - Transcend

Transcend - to go beyond the limits of; exceed. To surpass, excel.

Sometimes...I get scared. I watch the news and it frightens me with all the sadness, disease and cruelty that seems to exist in our world today. People trying to control other people. People who lie, manipulate, kill and destroy. So much hatred. Does anyone care about anything or anyone? Do people only seem to care about themselves?  It can suck one down a dark hole of disrepair where things seem impossible.

Where is the good news? Where is the happy? Where are those who make a difference?  Why are things so damn complicated? What can I do as one little person in this world of craziness?

Then I remember that sometimes all I we can do is one little thing. That thing? Believe. Believe that we can go beyond the limits of. Believe we can exceed, surpass and excel. Believe that others who feel the same way will stand up, shine their light and make a difference with us. Believe that good will overcome evil. Believe that we will transcend.

You know I am a HUGE fan of Lindsey Stirling. This is her Transcendence song and video. Please listen to her beautiful music and pay attention to the message from Lindsey after the music stops. I love Lindsey because she believes and she is a beautiful light in this world.

Have a wonderful weekend. Go out and exceed, surpass and excel. Shine your light into the world and believe that you can do one small thing to make a difference. Sometimes...all it takes is one little thing.

xx,
Michelle, the Bunnies and Sabrina too

You know what my friend? I was pondering on this very thing all week. Seeing what is happening in the world and even at my work. Why do people have to be so nasty? Sometimes I am at he point of tears in my car for my hour drive home, asking "WHY are people so mean and what should I do?" I often am the target for such sarcasm that hurts feelings. Well, I got my answer immediately in my mind and heart:

DON'T TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU'VE BEEN TREATED.

Your message here confirms that being a light and excelling the best you can at your work and especially in character will make a difference, if not now, someday.

GO and shine!

You know Shell it seems to me that many of us have been on this same thought path the last few weeks. The ISIS conflict is downright scary, the Ebola virus looms somewhere out there, and this last week here at home a 67 year old woman was beaten and raped in her car in the middle of the afternoon in the Dillards parking lot at the mall...so completely crazy. It makes me long for winter when I know I'll be staying in my house for days at a time. But then I remember that God sheds light when I focus on Him and I vow to do more, to do something, to brighten someone else's world. blessings, marlene

It is a scary world out there and with my sons in the Military I fear for them almost daily.

Sometimes we just have to trust and like you said Believe and maybe show our own acts of kindness in our world.

I stopped listening to the news and reading the newspaper a few years ago because I just couldn't cope with the doom gloom and bad news anymore. Some would call me an idiot I know, but I refuse to allow such negativity and hatred into my life. It's not that I am unaware of the madness and chaos- I merely choose to not be let it become a focus in my life.
One would think that with the world being so much smaller in this day and age, that people would actually have a better understanding of each other and cultures and beliefs....but I guess that's me being naive.

You are so right - one little thing is all it takes. Even a smile at someone - you never know when that will make a huge difference in someone's day! Hugs!

I do know what you mean--one thing at a time--
I often think that I haven't found my 'plan' for my life yet--that I should be doing something on a large scale--but what???
but like you said--we need to 'Believe' that even tiny small things are really big things to others--like the new knitted 'boob's I did for charity and now am on to knitting hats and mittens for charity for this winter--or donating a quilt to one of the libraries locally--
or even just a smile to a stranger on the street--or an encouraging email to a blog friend --
thanks for todays post--
hugs, di and miss gracie

This was touching and made me stop and think of how can I touch others.

Totally agree the news can be depressing but I believe you do make a difference when I come and visit your blog and see all the beautiful things you make and the care you have for the bunnies and the cats. I must admit not being a cat person but those cats you were looking after are so adorable I couldn't get over their colourings. I am so glad they have gone to good homes. Keep smiling.

I do so agree Shell & often ponder on these things. Especially as i have a 12 year old still to raise & a Grandson starting his life. I try not to listen to the news but the bad stuff creeps in. Seems there is more bad stuff than good stuff. Which is so sad. Hugs, my friend. Have a fabulous weekend.xx

I'm getting her album...inspiring story, and so wonderful to see their strong spirit! I thank Jesus that I need not fear what is ahead, but I am called to pray, be His hands and feet, and show love and compassion with humility. I'm not there yet, but trying. Bless you Shell, love you my friend. xxx

You do make a difference, Michelle. Sabrina and her babies are a perfect example. The world is a better place because of what you and your friend have done. That sort of kindness is an example to others who read your blog or meet you at the vet or hear your story from someone else. Who knows how far your loving decision will reach? But even if not one person ever followed your example in their own way, it would still be worth it--to Sabrina and to her babies, and to the families who will love those babies for the rest of their lives.

Chalk up most of that to our Shock Value System. People want to make other people jump with fear. 2. News channels get PAID to keep people glued to them. They get advertising dollars, so take it in with a "grain of salt". 3. Reporters no longer adhere to the 5W's anymore. Most articles are editorials in disguise so anyone with a bias will lean the story that way.

It is true that most of the information we hear through commercial means is filled with doom and gloom. Look in other directions and we find many folk, individuals and groups, both large and small, imparting goodness in very many ways. That knowledge can give us hope.

So well said Michelle ... DWH and I sit and wonder what has happened to people and life. How sad that we live in a world that is so void of morals, respect and integrity - things that mean so much to us. We try to stay positive and live within our values and spread kindness through our manners and respect for others. Letting our love shine just like you. Judy C
