Fellowship of the Flowers - Week 20 and a quick question

This week the tulip returns.

It will be used in our August project.

I thought it would be fun to show you how the flower looked before I stitched and embellished it.

I used the back stitch again and some simple couching and buttons.

I think it's pretty cool how little things can make something look so pretty.

I have a quick question for you. What is your favorite traditional quilt block and is there a reason why?

Hugs and see you back here Friday.
xx,
Michelle and the Bunnies

That is hard! I love pinwheels because they are so full of movement. I love log cabins because you can do so much with them depending on your setting and colors. I also like flying geese because they can become so many different things. Hmmm I guess I can't really pick just one! Fun to think about and try to answer. Thanks. Love your beautiful work and of course the bunnies! :-) K-

Good morning my friend! I like that you show the beginning stages of this lovely tulip because now I can appreciate even more the embellishments of your final product. The stitching is superb, and the little buttons you use are so cute, tiny enough for a bunny's coat! teeeeheee...I am not knowledgeable about blockings, but let me just stay that I love EVERYTHING you do. But the previous post with those whimsical pumpkin eater rabbits has to be one of my favorites!

Happy bunny day! LOVE, Anita

I agree with Kristy. I pretty much love them all depending on what I am working on. I have been having fun with the "churn dash" lately. I am pretty much a traditionalist so would say I at least prefer the old fashioned ones. The tulip is pretty today, Michelle.

Another lovely flower. I liked seeing the 'raw' flower with the final embellished - so you can appreciate all the fun play with these. I think the Churn Dash has to be my favorite traditional block.

Any guess as to my favourite traditional block? I have been indulging myself since the Missouri Star video came out on the disappearing pinwheel and have made two pinwheel/churn dash quilts and have plans to make a third later this year.
I am amazed at how the stitching changed the tulip. We have trouble with moths in our house so I haven't been tempted to try working with wool. That doesn't mean I can't appreciate it!

Churn Dash....insert contented sigh right about now. It's like comfort food, She'll, but it's my comfort block. As always, I just love what you do, my friend. xxx

Lovely Tulip. Showing the before and after embellishing really allows us the luxury of seeing how your stitching enhances the flower so very much. My favorite quilt block is yet to be discovered as I am not a quilter (she keeps saying knowing full well she wants to try...someday)! Creative Flower Bliss Dear...

Lovely tulip Shell and perfect for May! I recently discovered the spool design on an old cutter quilt I bought and love it, can't say why exactly but something about the design really appeals to me. Sorry, that's probably not much help to you LOL!

I am another pinwheel lover. :)
It is such a happy block to me. It can be very traditional or very modern. In any pattern I make myself, there always seems to be one or more.

Very cool Tulip! My fav block.... Definitely Logcabin. It was the very first patchwork block I ever saw and thought I would LOVE to do that! And I did!
