Hoppy Friday! Thank you for Shopping

Hoppy Friday to you! Things that made me hoppy this week are:

Friends who have joined the Fellowship of the Flowers. It has been so much fun sharing this adventure with you so far. Teaching and sharing is my passion. I love to inspire people and encourage them to have fun and be creative.

I truly appreciate, love and want to give you a great big hug for joining the Fellowship. This is my full time job, not a hobby. This is how I earn a living. I work 12 - 14 hours a day seven days a week. I spent over 6 months designing, preparing and paying a graphic designer to put this Fellowship together. I spend many hours each week photographing, writing blog posts, and writing the project patterns to share with you. Not to mention designing new things and doing all the accounting, packaging, shipping and schlepping to the post office.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing that designers and artists deserve to be paid for bringing their visions and ideas to you. If it weren't for the people who come up with the ideas, you would have to do it yourself and you don't have time for that. hee, hee, hee. Plus, everyone would work all the time as there would be nothing fun to entertain you. ;)

Thank you for purchasing my patterns, my book and kits. You support a small business. You help me pay my light bill, buy food, pay for Hannah's medicine and also allow me to donate $25 a month to Great Lakes Rabbit Rescue. You help me give to others who just need a little bit of happy in a sad time.

You reap what you sow (sew). When you purchase your own patterns, your own books and your own memberships you bring joy to the artist or designer who worked very hard and had to pay others for their work in creating it.

You show respect, love and kindness, which is something we all want. You spread joy and goodness where too many people think it is ok to "shoplift" from the quilting world.

Thank you for bringing me joy and for making it possible for me to continue to create things that in return, bring you joy. After all, life is about sharing love and kindness with one another. What goes around comes around and that is the truth.

xx,
Michelle and the Bunnies

My heart has melted. I need to scrape it off the floor this very minute! Those squishalicious rabbits of yours make me hoppy, and YOUR devotion to your work/art does too. I wish you would have seen my last post (not the new one) because I had your name on my list of HEARtists that I believe in. Enjoy your work and weekend my dear friend. Anita

Good Morning Shell, You said it very beautifully. I love your work. I unfortunately don't have the hours that I would love to have to try everything that I see.It is always amazing to see what you have been doing. I don't like people who try to claim work as their own when it isn't. It is just life and I am a firm believer that there will be a day when they get their just dues. I believe in the golden rule. You know some people my share their ideas with them if they would only ask. Have a great weekend. If you have some warmer weather, send me some. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

You have put into words what so many of us feel about our creativity and efforts. Thank you and the bunnies. Your work is inspiring and you are too adorable not to pay attention to my friend. I am happy to be part of your joy...

I think the way you expressed your thanks, and explained your position as an artist has been done in a way which is both truly professional, and eloquent. Thoughtfully, and beautifully put my friend.x

A well thought out, informative and lovely post Michelle. Unfortunately many people seem to feel that if you are not out working at a 'regular job' than your efforts should come free. What they fail to realise is the time, effort, attention to detail, cost, creativity, care and love that you, and designers like you, put into each and every project that you share with us. There is so much value and beauty that we receive in exchange for the relatively small amount of payment that we make to you and other designers – we purchasers are the ones who win in this exchange. We are provided with the means and inspiration to create something beautiful with our own hands, something that we can enjoy well into the future, not to mention being able to make and gift in order to spread the beauty and love. A world without designers such as yourself would be a very dull place indeed Michelle. There are many of us who admire, appreciate and are in awe of your generous spirit and creativity and are grateful that you share all that with us and ask so little in return. Hugs to all in Bunnyville.

Much food for thought in this post and a very good message to send out. Designing and teaching are hard, hard work - the desire to "get it right", and the effort required - it may be a labour of love, but it is most definitely a labour.
Good for you Shell, for getting it out there.

Ditto, Ditto to all you've said! I've been doing all these same things for 30 years now; but I wouldn't change a thing.
