Floss Keepers - The Raspberry Rabbits Way

Hi ya! How's your week going so far? I must say that April is going fabulous so far. I have lots of fun things and news to share with you in the next few weeks. In fact, I'm going to start with something fun today. :)

Way back in the Summer of last year, my friend and wonderful customer, Beverly, contacted me and said, "Shell, I'm beginning to collect lots of different Valdani, 3 strand floss colors. As I start to use them, the cardboard piece, with the color number on it falls out. I've been folding them and putting them in the middle, but I was wondering how you stored your floss?"

It was rather funny as I had the same question going through my head at that time. I came up with an idea and have spent months trying to get a company to give me a quote on making my little floss keepers based on a sketch I did. However, like most big companies, they don't want to mess with little people. Poo!

But, I'm rather a feisty little bunny who figures there is always a way around something. So one morning (6:00 a.m. my magic thinking hour) I came up with the solution. I ditched my drawing and my idea and just decided to move on.

Hello Martha Stewart paper punch. This paper punch was available several years ago. I actually found this one on Ebay. David sat and watched his NASCAR and punched out lots of these bunny ears for me from poster board. Thanks honey bunny! :)

First, you write the floss color on the ear with a pen, pencil or whatever.

Then, you simply unravel a little bit of floss and insert the ears into the center of the ball. Next, wrap the unraveled end around the center of the ears and the ball of floss.

What you now have is cute little bunny heads!!! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!  Cracks me up!

This could also work with other types of paper punches, but this is the land of the bunnies so that's how it's done here as I'm sure you already knew. hee, hee, hee.  ;)

Now, as you use your floss, the bunny head will get smaller and smaller. Eventually, it will end up like this. By then the ears are worn out and you can throw them away. Easy as that.

Because I think you're awesome and I think these are awesome, whenever you order 3 or more balls of floss from me or my collection, (collection also has a free stitchery pattern) you will receive 15 of these little bunny ears for FREE. You must order 3 or more balls of floss. One ball of floss isn't worth my minimum shipping rate. It's not economical in the long run to order one lonely ball.

Alrighty then. I hope you enjoyed this little demo. Me and the bunnies will see your right back here on Friday.

xx,
Michelle, Harrington and Hannah

Clever, very very clever, I love it, it's such a pain when you don't know the colours, I have just spent hours winding floss on to cards (not as cute as yours!) Hugs xx

Positively brilliant Shell! And adorable.... I have only one question... Is Harrington alright with them not being black? Perhaps you should include one black one in each set....if they order black thread?
