Gathering Inspiration

When people ask me what inspires my designs, most of the time I say music. I listen to music all day long and find it very powerful. I love all kinds of music and my mood usually dictates what I listen to. Lyrics help me to imagine things.

However, sometimes I need to hop out of Bunnyville, breathe some fresh air, and use my eyes instead of my ears for inspiration. I go gathering.

The "friends entry" to my home.

Then I return to Bunnyville where I turn the music back on and gaze around at the fuzzy inspiration that resides there.

So what inspires you?

xx, Michelle and the Bunnies

Hi Michelle,
Such a pretty, inviting entranceway! Inspiration...is all around us, don't you think? And if you are a blogger, (or a lurker) then you definitely see inspiration everyday!! That is including your blog, where you come up with the most amazing designs!! Thank you for that!! Love your blog!

Beautiful.....I think I need a bunny...named Hydrangia....but it might have to be a toy bunny as my Bassett Hound would probably be too interested in a real one.

Anything in Nature is inspirational to me - flowers, trees, sky and water, dirt and stones, and the seasons offerings.

Like you, I love to go outside and look at how nature has put things together. I also love art and architecture. I think most of my inspiration comes from color and memories, though. I find myself wanting to recapture childhood memories whether they are fairy tales, vacations, stories I was told, etc. Some come from raising my three sons or teaching young children in elementary school.

Those darling young buns are enough to inspire anyone! I just wanna kiss em on the nose. Love your flower basket. I am sometimes inspired by listening to celtic music, but usually I pop a dvd in the player in the studio. It will always be an historical movie, a Masterpiece Theater, anything that represents the past. I am inspired by the vintage clothing, the cottages, castles, the gardens and I use them often in my illustrations.

Love your pictures! I get inspired by colors the most...thread colors, fabric colors, outdoor colors...

I can find inspiration most anywhere - the quirkier the better. Sometimes a billboard will set me off - sometimes a saying on a sign. Or even the name of a business. Nature of course. Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures.

My quilt inspiration usually comes from a combo of my fabric and quilt patterns I see. But every time I see Hannah and Harrington...I want some rabbits! I've tried mixing cats and rabbits before though and the bunnies aren't too comfortable so I will spare them and only enjoy them from afar.

Awww, pretty flowers and sweet bunnies. I enjoy music, too. One of the things I miss about traveling so much is missing the Cincinnati Pops season at home.

Hi Shell, You and my other blogging friends inspire me. I have so many things I would love to try, but with still working it will have to wait a little longer. I enjoyed reading your blog and seeing Hannah and Harrington. Every time I look at mine I think of you. I have two babies that I see each morning as I am leaving the house to go to work. Have a wonderful day. Hugs from Your Missouri Friend.

Oh you now - every morning I get up and get my early Raspberry Rabbits fix of inspiration, get all depressed at how high the bar is set, and go back to bed until it passes!

Donovan - You got to pick up every stitch... two rabbits running in the ditch ... it is the season of the INSPIRATION!

Ah, beautiful home, beautiful flowers, beautiful bunnies...what more could a girl ask for!

I don't listen to music, I can't have anything on in the background while I'm creating. It interferes somehow! And inspiration is everywhere...if I could just lasso it.

Earth, Wind, and Fire, nature at it's best, the sun the moon and the stars. The band too!! I, too, am a music lover, spent many years in high school playing the clarinet in all the bands. I listen to all types of music and love listening to the words and imagine what they are saying in my mind, so yes, music inspires me too! Love classical, jazz, big band, oldies, rock, anything but RAP or HipHop, to me that is not music!

I too am inspired by a stroll around the yard and seeing all of the flowers blooming. I am not a designer of wonderful patterns like you are but I do get inspired to create my version of someone elses design.
