We're ok

"Harrington do you think the power will ever come back on?"

We made it through the storm, but we are still without power. Been 6 days now. Not fun, but at least our house is ok and we are safe. Many of our good friends are not so lucky and we have been helping them gather things from their homes and clean up yards. I'm borrowing internet from a business that has a connection. Hopefully, next week we will be back to normal. I have many things I will be celebrating. For one, I see we have almost 800 followers! Woo hoo!
Here is the pond in the back yard before the hurricane. Notice the fence.
Here is the pond during the hurricane. Notice the fence underwater!
I had to put Harrington and Hannah in the guest bathroom instead of the master bath as this bathroom is much cooler. On Sunday, it was over 100 degrees and humid as all get out! We have a generator that runs a few things including a fan to keep the bunnies cool.

Needless to say, they look at me through the bars of the playpen and tell me they're bored, hot, and these accommodations totally stink. Management has been informed.  ;)

Hugs to you and thanks for all your concern and well wishes. Keeping our bunny ears crossed for power and internet to return! We sure do miss visiting with you!

xx, shell, harrington and hannah

So glad that you and the bunnies made it through the storm. They are just so sweet.

Hoping you get electricity back soon. Carrying buckets of water to flush the commode is the pits. Does that show that I Know what you are going through. LOL : )

Glad the pond was in the backyard and not the house. When we have lost power, I spend half my time flipping light switches. Hopefully all will be back to normal soon.

Shell I was so thrilled to see you had posted! My worry was escalating. :) That pond is a scary thing - we live on a lake and it did that once since we lived here. My condolences to the bunnies but I'm sure all will be right with their world very soon. blessings, marlene

So glad to hear that you are all safe and sound, but having no power all this time absolutely sucks! We lost power for only 4 hours, but it's a good thing that was it; otherwise, our sump pump wouldn't have worked and our house would probably be flooded now.

Mick and I will be thinking good thoughts for you getting power back soon!

Even though the power loss is a pain, it could be worse ..... Shell, the main thing is that you're all ok. Sorry the bunnies are bored though ... they look quite sad in their playpen :o/.

Hi Shell:
It is always hot and humid following a hurricane. That the part I REALLY dislike! So glad that you're safe and sound, and that you have the generator to help keep you and the bunnies cool. All of us who love you were worried and so happy to hear you're alright.

Looking forward to seeing your smiling face very soon!

Glad you are ok. We had quite a bit of water damage and the power was out long enough for everything in my freezer to spoil. I love the bunnies in your 8/26 post (my birthday) with the legs out behind! Love, Linda

Hey you! So glad to hear you came through all right - excepting of course the little issue of power - 6 days is a long time to be without but likely seems a small inconvenience compared to what others are dealing with.
Take care Shell!

Hey Shell, So glad to hear you are okay. I was going to call you to see how you did. Our car got totaled with the flood and we are not sure if Eric's car is going to be okay or not. It too was in the flood and has not started as of yet. We are okay though. Had a lot of wind damage to our house and fence and some things got flooded out in my husband's shop. Filled out an app for FEMA. Hopefully they can help with our cars. Love ya, Donna

so glad to hear you are all okay. No power! I understand how you feel. One winter we went without power for a week and everything is total electric. We did stay warm with a wood stove, so that was good. You make do.

I'm so glad to know you got through the storm with only minimal disturbance....Power outage is a bomber. We had the same thing happen after the April tornadoes. And then lost electrical appliances/machines because of the surge. I pray you have none of that.
The Bunnies look so cozy. I've often wondered if they have the run of the house or if they are confined to a certain area.

I actually blogged about you this morning Sir Harrington. Someday when life is more calm I will send mommy the link so that you can see yourself in all your handsomeness and Lady Hannah in all her beauty.

Try to stay cool!

OOohh Shell, and the furry hoppies, I'm so glad you are all OK. We went through that nasty Yasi at the beginning of the year, and I didn't think there was any winds left to blow like that!!! I saw photos of the front moving in on your side and boy it looked so angry and so dark. Nasty, nasty things. Hugs to you all
