Mary Engelbreit's Art - It's Never to Late

So you remember me saying that this year was going to be all about art and homemade things? That I was going to purchase art and things I loved? Well in December, I got an email with a special offer for prints in the Mary Engelbreit store. I have always adored Mary Engelbreit, not only for her delightful art, but for her sense of humor as well. She's the one that said she suffered from OCDD, "obsessive compulsive decorating disorder!" I will never forget that and still laugh like crazy when I think about how I suffer from it too!

The web special said that for a limited time, if you purchased a print, which is poster size by the way, Mary Engelbreit would personally sign it!!!! Oh...my...gosh!! Hello! I hopped right over to see if my favorite print was still available. I knew if it was still there it was meant to be and I would buy it for sure. Guess what?

It was! Happy bunny dance! This is my most favorite one. I actually carried a 5"x7" of this in my day planner for years. Mary use to put these small pieces in her magazine, Home Companion, as gifts for the reader. After losing my job last year, I sat for many hours thinking and looking at stuff just like this little gal. When I got the print in the mail, I almost fell over with excitement to see that I got number 500 of 500!! You can see Mary's signature below the books! I took it to a professional framer to have it matted and framed properly. It now hangs in Bunnyville with other treasured art pieces and every day I am reminded that it really is never to late to be what you might have been.

I truly miss Home Companion magazine. There was no other magazine as special and unique. I would sit and read it cover to cover. I saved the last three issues. I wish I still had all my copies.

Have a fun day and do something special for yourself. You're worth it!

I love the print, it is also one of my favourites. Home Companion magazine really was unique and one of the best, I have about 9 old issues and will never get rid of them.
Hugs to you and the beautiful bunnies.

I have stacks of old HOme Companions in the attic. Well there are always 2-3 near the bathtub at any given moment (for inspiration while I soak).
I can't believe you got 500 of 500! That's awesome.

Love your print! I haven't seen that one, but what a great quote - and so very true. I so often like I'm finally starting to be ME - at the age of 53. I look forward to an interesting journey, filled with twisting pathways, little cubbies, and lots of love.

Hi Shell,
You came to my blog tonight and left a comment. Thank you for your visit.
I hope you will come back so we can get to know one another.
I love bunny's too. I don't have a pet rabbit but I do feed a wild one.

Hi Shell:
I've always loved Mary, too. I have a cross stitch version of "Everyone Needs Their Own Spot". It's a little boy hugging a spotted dog. It's so sweet, as are all of her designs. I'm so happy that you got the poster you wanted. It was meant to be yours!
Love and Hugs from your FL pal.

Oh hon how awesome is that!!! I loved her magazine too, it was the only one I subscribed to. I still have all my copies, every single issue. Have you seen the stitchery book she has out? AMAZING. Congrats on getting an autographed piece of her art!

Hi, just found your blog and love it! I was a big Home Companion fan too. I had stored away quite a few but unfortunately they were water damaged when we had a mini flood in our basement...I say mini because it only reached the boxes with my mags :-(
