Sugie Here with a Reminder

Hello there our wonderful, fun, friends in blogland. Mama asked me to remind you that the Next FREE BOM stitchery pattern will be up on her website February 1st. She also wanted me to remind you to hop back over here and register for the next giveaway. Something about "bunny scissors?" Hopefully that doesn't mean they get used on me and Razzy for a makeover!

Anyway, be sure and visit with us on Monday.

Have a fun weekend,
Sugie Bunny

A Hoppin and A Shoppin

One of my most favorite things to do is "hop" around in blogland. It's so much fun to travel around the world and see so many wonderful things, people, and places, all from the comfort of my home. Not to mention not having to deal with the airlines! Yikes!

A while back I stumbled across Joanne May. I was intrigued not only by her magical illustrations, but also by the beautiful jewelry she creates. Especially the jewelry featuring the Leaping Hare. Well... you can also throw in the fact we have the same last name! hee, hee, hee.

I decided I wanted to give myself an early birthday present (my birthday is in March). Since I love handmade things most of all and since I have been drooling over her work for so long, I decided I would purchase a necklace with the Leaping Hare. Joanne was so gracious to create a piece specifically for me. I wanted something small with white and silver. I think she hit the nail on the head. It's so perfect!

Please excuse this sideway photo. Blogger is having an issue and won't behave properly!! Naughty!! Uggggg!

Blogger doesn't like this photo either, but at least you get the to see how beautiful this necklace is. I'm so excited about it! The beads are just gorgeous!

Joanne also sent me this beautiful bunny brooch. I'm in the process of creating a quilted "art purse" and I do believe this will work perfectly on my new purse.

Thanks a million times over Jo for making me something I will treasure forever!
I hope all of you hop over and visit with her. Tell her Shell sent ya.

Bunny Love Pillow

Well, I finally finished it and I can hardly stand how cute it turned out!!! Remember my post from last Monday "flat out fun day?" Well guess where my inspiration came from for this pattern?? hee, hee, hee. This was so much fun!

I think this makes the perfect project to give as a wedding gift, for Valentines, or just cause you love it! I have kits, patterns and the floss available on my website.

The kit has everything you need except the fiberfill. I even give you one of my favorite embroidery needles.
The fabric I stitched on is a paisley with hearts! This is in the kit too!
This project really got me in the mood for Spring. I can hardly wait!

Prayers for Critters too

Like many of you, I am brought to tears each night as I see the horrific scenes from Haiti. The hurt, the sadness, the fear, the despair. I say prayers for them and I am grateful that people have united to help and give comfort.

At the same time I say prayers for all the critters. Being a "critter lover" and being so totally in love with my bunnies, I can't even imagine how many beautiful creatures have been killed.
So.... I have prayers for them too.... I pray the angels are holding them safe and giving them comfort.

Flat Out Fun Day in Bunnyville

So after my bout of food poisoning yesterday (ick) and a migraine that wouldn't go away because the weather was so darn icky (ouch) and pretty much spending the entire day in bed (boring) today was a much better day. In fact, today was a "flat out" fun day here in Bunnyville.

Razzy being "flat out" happy after chewing on a new toy.

Sugie being "flat out" happy after getting the rest of the pellets from Razzy.

So I'm "flat out" happy because I'm almost done with my latest design and I love how it is turning out!

Bet you'll never guess where I get my inspiration from? hee, hee, hee.

This is the Valdani 3 strand floss I'm using. It's called Early Spring. Of course I have to use some glass pearls too. I mean that's kinda my signature and all.
I hope to have the finished piece done and the pattern available by next Monday. I'll also have complete kits for sale. It will have everything you need to make this fun project just in time for Spring, a wedding gift, or just cause you "flat out" want to!

Wild Hare Wednesday, 06, 07, 08, 09, Oh Zen!

So this week my Wild Hare involves the evolution of my foyer. The constant tweaking, twitching, rearranging and then the downright... hello sister... what the heck, reality check!

You see, when you stop listening to your own heart and your own voice and listen to others; when you lose track of who you really are, what you really love; when you get downright sucked into a fad, you never feel quite settled. You keep twisting, tweaking changing and then suddenly Viola'! You finally get it. You listen and you remember....

I present to you my foyer over the past 5 years.
The Victorian fainting couch style with the beautiful mural fondly called (The Wall of Commitment" because it was hand painted by a Russian artist that sucked me into it and it cost a bundle so therefore I felt committed to keep it! Like forever!!! Like ever!!! Dag!!!).
While it did serve as a great photo op with the nieces and nephew, (yes we are all fainting on the fainting couch, hee, hee, hee) it was just too way formal for me. I'm a blue jeans and clogs girl for Pete's sake! I do love this photo though. It's a treasure!
Next we move on to the display cabinet with antique chair (the chair that the bottom is falling out of, the springs are shot, there is that nasty Naugahyde crappy fabric on it and David fondly refers to it as "Stinky Chair" because...well... it stinks). However, the green looks nice with the green in "The Wall of Commitment."
Next we remove the icky green "never gonna recover, stinky chair" and replace it with something a little more "me," simple and clean. We also replace the items in the display cabinet and change the positioning of items and photo on top of display cabinet. Again... all trying to deal with... you guessed it "The Wall of Commitment." Oh brother.....
Finally.... I bring you to now. To hell with "The Wall of Commitment"... paint over it already and move on with your life woman!!! You can rearrange all you want and you still won't like it! Get a grip you dorkwad!! I truly love Calm, Clean and Serene. I like Zen. Ahhh yes, Zen... Zen in 2010. I remembered... I love white and shades of white. I love monochromatic decorating. This is me. I may add some beautiful pictures from Ballard Designs, but until then I'm happy. Hello old friend... it's been a while.

The Winner of Mr. Spunky Bunny!

Hey Sugie it's time to draw for the winner of Mr. Spunky Bunny! Oh boy Razzy!

He sure is a cute bunny!

Ok, so blogger is having an issue and won't load my picture correctly and I'm sick of messing with the ding dong thing so you can twist your head sideways to look at it or you can trust what I'm writing here. hee, hee, hee.

I took each name from the comments and assigned a number in the order they were left. If you are following, you got two numbers like 1 and 2. Then I did the whole random number generator thing and it picked number 94.

Congratulations to Tina at Knot in the Fray!

Email me your address Tina and I'll get Mr. Spunky Bunny mailed out to you!
Thanks so much to all of you that entered and are now following my blog. Please visit with us often and especially on the 1st of every month! There will be more prizes and more stitcheries with my BOM! Grab my button and don't forget!

Wild Hare Wednesday - Wrapping Paper Reconnaissance

So this Wild Hare involved Target, David and Tactical Measures.
Again, same as last week, my Wild Hare Wednesday's are tales to be told. So go pee, get a drink and get comfy. hee, hee, hee.

Ok... so being a rather small, tiny, person, I'm not one to partake of Black Friday or Day after Christmas Sales for the fear of being trampled to death! I have to stand my ground with my buggy on a normal day at the grocery store for Pete's Sake! (back away from the lettuce... I got bunnies to feed!)

So anyway. I was walking through Target before Christmas and came across the most fabulous, gorgeous, down right, had my name written all over it, wrapping paper!!! Helloooooooooo my lovely. $5.00 a roll!!! What!!!! No way!!! But then... the light bulb went off. "AFTER CHRISTMAS SALE." Oh boy!! I would get it after Christmas!!!! It will be half price!!! Oh boy what beautiful gifts I will wrap with this "oh so fabulous paper that just screams my name!" People will oooh and ahhhh and cheer when their gift is wrapped with this paper. They won't even want to open it!!! It's lovely, it's gorgeous it's...Ok... I'm back....

I did some reconnaissance work and located where all the rolls were on the isles.

Then all of a sudden I thought about getting up at "oh stupid o'clock" and getting ready to get to Target. I'm totally NOT a morning person. My alarm goes off and I normally need a good 15 minutes to get a grip on reality. Then of course there's the whole hair and makeup thing (not like I do much) but let's just say that if I leave the house without my simple hair and makeup, I will turn all those that look at me to stone. Yes... I'm Medusa in the morning. It's really bad. Plus, I can't go anywhere without some coffee first thing and some food or I will pass out in a lump. All this would require me to get up even earlier! Ick, gag, puke!

Then I thought about David. Ahhh yes, dear hubby, David. David is bald (well pretty much). David is use to eating breakfast at 9:00 during his first break at work. David wears the same "uniform" jeans, white socks, white tee shirt every day. Fifteen minutes and the man can be out the door like lightning!!!

So he went to Target, grabbed his buggy and proceeded to to go up and down the isles. He called me twice for some tactical measures and low and behold he got 14 rolls of my fabulous wrapping paper!! Mission accomplished!!! Of course, I couldn't help but laugh at the fact he was the only male in the wrapping paper isle. Those women must have thought one of two things. A: he's obviously gay with that paper or B: what a lucky woman to have a husband like that.

Sooooo.... how did I convince him to get the wrapping paper and look like a gay guy the day after Christmas?? Give a man a flat screen, state of the art, TV for Christmas and he'll do just about anything! haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

A very successful Wild Hare indeed (for all parties involved).

blissfully,
shell

Happy New Year! We made it! I'm so happy!

As promised we will be taking "A Sentimental Journey Through the Months." On the 1st of every month there will be a new FREE stitchery pattern on my Website to collect. Each one will have a Happy and Positive Sentiment for you to stitch. I'll show you the finished project at the end of the 12th month (December 2010), if I can wait that long. It's just so darn cool!
I thought it would be good to post the patterns on the 1st of the month as many of us have bills due then. Ick... This way after we get done paying all our bills we can get a little present to make us feel better and for being so responsible! Yippee!
Here's what January's pattern looks like. I'm going to challenge you to embellish your blocks a little bit. I can't tell you why yet, but oh boy is it fabulous!
The patterns will be available on my Website all year, so pick them up when you can and get stitch'in! No procrastinating this year! (yes, this means me too, hee, hee, hee)
In addition, I promised a giveaway each and every month too! I've got some really fun prizes! This month's prize is a Jim Shore bunny!!! Isn't he precious!?!? He's 16" tall and super spunky!
To be entered into this giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment. But wait... do you want more chances to win?! If you become a follower of my blog, your name will go in the hat twice! Yep, twice! You can sign up on the left side of my blog to follow. Then when you leave your comment, just say "I'm following." (please note that nobody will call you at home during dinner time and ask you stupid questions or want you to buy stupid things if you become a follower) Well alrighty then! How easy is that?
I will pick the winner of Mr. Spunky Bunny Monday, January 11th. Good luck!
Grab my button on the side bar and pass the word along! Let's have a happy, positive and totally fun Year!
