Ready, Leap, Land! I'm stupid...

My computer is crashing.....I need the darn thing to run my business, chat with my friends and tour the world. This one is 7 years old and it has been worked to death! I've been saving for a while and I decided I better go and get a new computer before I'm in trouble. I got a laptop. A decent one that will perform all the functions I need and then some!
These are my favorite bunny plates that hang in my dining room. I looked at them and had to laugh because they made me think about my whole "new"computer experience.
"Ready" Prepared to get the new computer and excited too! All that Windows 7 stuff should be fun to learn! The commercials make it look so easy!! Oh boy!
"Leap" Here we go. Got the computer home, turned it on. Waiting for it to wash the dishes, pay my bills and make me gorgeous!
"Land" I've landed in the middle of all this stuff that makes absolutely no sense to me! I teach quilting and stitching and write patterns for goodness sakes... where's the "easy button?" How come my computer won't talk to my printer from the air??? How do I make that work????
I'm stupid... my head hurts from trying to understand this stuff...I need a guru...where's a 9 year old when you need one!!
hee,hee,hee.
your friend,
shell

Oh my! I cannot do anything on the computers. My son has to be around to help me. It used to be so easy, but now you have to know how to talk to these machines..... Hope you can get everything worked out.

Oh dear Shell, you sound like me when I got a new one just a few months ago. In the end I spent hours going backwards and forwards to various pages, downloaded all the programmes I used to use and now we work well together - except for when my IP stuffs things up. Good luck, breath deep and hide away with the machine for a while. Just one thing on the printer - I had to use the printer discs to download it's programme, it's easily done once you find the discs : )

They say if you have a computer question ask a "kid" as they know more about them than grown-ups and so far I have found that true!!!
I got my laptop in August--so hang in there it will work itself out--but unfortunately not over night!!!!

Oh computers are so fustrating, I feel for ya. I am lucky to have a computer genius in the house, ha ha but I get stubborn and try at first to do things on my own but I always end up screaming for help...and I am often close to murdering my printers!!! Good Luck...just try to get abit everyday, everything all at once will be too much. XO Mandy.

It's kind of a let down isn't it? You're so excited - WooooHooooo a new computer for moi!!!! Then you get it home, unwrapped, and hooked up and then it doesn't like you. It turns up it's nose at you, and starts acting snooty until you're ready to throw the damn thing across the room. then it's suddenly sweet again... and it drives you crazy until the day you decide to get a new one. :) Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em!!!! lol

Hi Shell,
I know what you mean about computers!
I am always cursing mine for doing strange things.;(
I love your bunny plates, they look like they are antiques. Are they vintage?
Anyway I thought I would just hop over to visit you, to say I have not disappeared and I am still blogging but I have been away with the fairies for a while!:)
Have a great week.
Love,
Jo.x

First of all, you're already gorgeous. So it doesn't have to do that. I usually just start plugging things in. Easier than reading the mumbo jumbo. Good luck!

Thank you for making me laugh when I read your blog. I haven't forgotten when I got mine here for home. It was so much fun and I am still learning. I have Windows XP because Windows 7 was to new and I had the other on mine at work. You will get use to it even if you feel like pushing it off the desk or out the window. Take care. I'm all for inviting the little people around to solve the computer issues, I'm sure they think in the same way. Cute Bunny plates. Hope your computer decides to make friends with you real soon.
