Wild Hare Wednesday! A Decorating Wild Hare!

So Sugie... apparently a Wild Hare is when you get a crazy idea to do something. Sometimes it turns out good and sometimes it doesn't turn out good. Mama got a Wild Hare to wash the slipcovers on the couch and they shrunk! She's always wanted white slipcovered furniture and this was her excuse to get it. What do you think?
I really like it Razzy. Better make sure your paws are clean. Mama said daddy's paws are dirty so she got an extra cover for his chair so she can wash them more. Mine are clean Sugie.
Wow she even got a two new white chairs and an ottoman.
Wait a minute!! Is that Joe the painter??? Oh my gosh! Mama really did get a Wild Hare!
Joe the painter is painting over the hand painted mural on the ceiling and on the wall!!!!!
So there you have it. My Wild Decorating Hare. hee, hee, hee. I'm so sick of pink, green and yellow. My house is 8 years old and it's needing a "freshening." I'm going back to my first true love, which is calm, serene and clean. I love white, beiges and creams. Stay tuned as the story continues.
What are your Wild Decorating Hares? Have you done anything so bold as to change everything, paint over murals, have a massive yard sale, gone from clutter to minimal? Do share! I would love to hear!
hugs,
shell

I love the white decoration. It looks so clean and fresh...I think the bunnies like it too... They are really beautiful buns!;)
I have had a Wild Hare moment! Painting over my pictures and starting again. It does feel good sometime but I have regretted changing some works.
Good to see you for a catch up, Shell May!

Hi Shell:
When we first moved into our FL home, there was a racetrack mural in one of the guest rooms. (The perspective was a little off - they looked like hovercrafts!) We decided to paint over it and do the whole room in a white paint. Then, we hired a carpenter to make floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a window bench for one wall. I made a blue and white valance and cushion cover for the window bench area and turned the little boy's race car room into a Cape Cod library/guest room. Turned out really nice, and it's a quiet room, too, because of all the books.
Sorry to be so long-winded, my friend. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
xoxo

I'm always predictably getting a "wild hare" to do something in the house or yard. But then, change is good!

As part of my healing, I painted almost my home home. Took me over a month. I ripped up my nasty rug in my bedroom and put nice tiles in it.
So now place is full of beautiful and lovely colors that make me happy.
Sometimes you have to update and change our homes to reflect who we are now.

First of all, the babies get cuter with every picture! I love all the white. When I lived alone my apartment was mostly white. Now, a husband & 4 kitties later, it doesn't work so well. Last spring my kitchen was all yellow, red, blue & apples and had been for 6 years. One morning I hated it & almost gagged every time I looked around. I took everything out & most went to Goodwill. Now it's blue, white, yellow & bare...because I STILL haven't figured out what I'm doing in there! Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours. :)

I had a Wild Hare once.... I painted my kitchen walls red, took all the cupboard doors and drawer fronts off and painted them white and then 'shabbicized' them. I left the doors off of 2 top cupboards and painted the inside of the cupboard Plaid. I also left off two doors on the bottom cupboards and put up curtains to cover the contents. (I liked it then, not so much now)

I thought in my mind, this would take a day or two...HA! Try 3 weeks!!!! :)

LOve your white slipcovers, although that wouldnt' last long here! :)
