Two Anniversaries and Two Giveaways

Mama did you say Giveaways???
Yes Sugie. I'm celebrating two anniversaries! The first is my 20th Quilting Anniversary! I took my first quilting class back in September of 1989 from the fabulous Charlotte Angotti. She had a store in Virginia Beach called Quilt Works. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had learning to quilt from Charlotte. She was soooo hilarious, had the best stories and well.... I was hooked from that point on. I'm ever so grateful for having Charlotte as my first quilting teacher.
This was my very first quilt. Can we say "helloooooooo calicooooooooo!" I know your laughing.... It's OK. I laugh every time I look at it. But hey, I was proud of it. The entire thing was hand pieced and hand quilted. Let's just say I'm glad I improved over the years. Back in my "country decorating" days, this hung on the wall in the living room. I think David is glad that decorating phase is over! hee, hee, hee.
My second anniversary is well my second year Blogging Anniversary! Yippeee! Two years ago I found the wonderful world of blogging and have been having a blast ever since! I just love all the friends I've made and I love visiting with everyone around the world whenever I feel like it.
Thanks to all of you who follow me and are my fans and leave comments. I can't tell you how much it makes my heart happy!! Love you!
So since there are two fun anniversaries, I'm giving away these two quilting books. Brand new and oh so pretty. I hope they encourage someone to make a quilt and then blog about it later.
All you have to do is leave a comment. On Friday I will pick a name outta the hat and choose two winners.
Hugs to you and thanks for reading my little tales here in Bunnyville.
Shell

Hi Shell:
Congratulations on your TWO anniversaries! How wonderful for you.
I don't know what you're apologizing for about your first quilt. It's quite charming!
Thanks for all those posts about your bunnies. They never cease to brighten up my days. Keep 'em coming, kid. You're one in a million!

I like your first quilt. I would never have tried either hand piecing or hand quilting and you did such a great job. Congrats on your anniversaries.

Wow, I didn't realize you have been blogging for two years!!! You've been quilting as long as I have been doll making!!!My first class was in 1988!!!!
I think your first quilt is lovely!
I am so happy you are blogging and that we have met through cyberspace!!!!
I always look forward to the bunny tales!!!!!!!
It has been a long hard week here, this is getting into my busy season at work, and if I want to make things I need to burn the candle at both ends!

Your first quilt looks like one of my first efforts, not the style today but I cherish what it represents none the less. Congrats on reaching two fantastic milestones, just think of the possiblities that lie ahead. If you are like me you can never die because there are always quilts to be made.

The books look wonderful, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

what a great idea for a giveaway...i work with a girl who makes the prettiest quilts...last weekend she brought in one of her fabric books for me to look at...that kind of got me thinking about getting out my sewing machine...the fabric choices are so much better than they used to be...i saw some that i really really want!!!

Hi there if the giveaway is open to UK bloggies, then I would love to be considered. A recent exhibition near where I live has given me the desire to start a new quilt sometime soon. I also need to finish two on-going projects as well. Dev x

Congratulations on your anniversaries!
You should see the first quilt I made when I was in 7th grade. I don't know what I was thinking when I chose the fabrics :) Yours looks fabulous in comparison.

Have a lovely afternoon!

Hi Shell!

Congratulations on your two annniverseries! Your quilt is very nice even though you don't like the colors so much anymore; I ALWAYS imagine the ladies who made those atrocious green and orange quilts wondered what they were doing when new fabric came out!

PLEASE enter me in your giveaway!!! I LOVE books and especially quilting books. I don't have either of these.

Thank you!!!

Quite the double accomplishments for you! We are very similar in many ways...my name is also Michelle nickname Shelley; I started formal quilting in 1990; I made quilts before that..sort of my own way; in 1990 took an adult ed course and learned the rotary cutter way! YIPEE! I love your original tree design...! So pretty.
I came over from Quiltnstitch where we are following the Bingo game with bated breath...
I'd like a chance at these books!
