A Summer of Sadness

I think this has been the saddest Summer of my entire life. I don't mean to bring anyone down. I try to be a teller of funny and upbeat tales, but sometimes life gets a hold of things and drips sadness upon us. I think this Summer I have been flooded upon instead of dripped upon.
First I lost my beloved Chloe on June 20.
Then on July 26 we lost David's Dad. "Pops" as we fondly called him was 88. He was absolutely one of the kindest, most gentle hearted people, that I had ever met. He always called me Sweetie. David's kind heart and loving ways are a true reflection of his father. I held off on posting about Pops because.....
today... exactly one month after we lost Pops, I lost my Cutie. This photo was taken two weeks ago when I went to see her in VA Beach. I knew then I was giving her a kiss goodbye. She was 92. She was my "Cutie" grammy. She was one of my most treasured people. She too called me Sweetie.
"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy. They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." --Marcel Post
Thank you Chloe, Pops and Cutie for making my soul blossom. For not only showing me love, but for giving it so freely. I love you all dearly and I miss you even more.
I'm ready for Summer to be over.....

From one Shell to another, I send you a big hug. When people you love pass on, it can make life so sad. What I have found is that the people we love are always close by in our thoughts, hearts and memories. I know that won't bring them back yet it helps to heal.

My sincere condolences to you and yours as you deal with the losses of your loved ones. My grandparents were special people in my life- they loved me unconditionally in ways that seem different to me than my loving parents do. I miss their wisdom and caring and the joy they found in the simple things of life.
May you find yourself surrounded by kind and caring loved ones who support you as you walk this difficult journey. May the fall bring you some wonderful new things to brighten your days.
Warmest regards,

Hi Shell,
I am so sorry for all the losses you have had in your family this summer. I had one year like that too & didn't want to answer the phone for fear it would be more bad news.
I love your post on Razzy & Sugar & the pic of Razzy pouting is just too cute!
I use to have a bunny name Sugarfoot many years ago!
Pink hugs to you.

Hi Shell,
Your right it has been a stinky summer. I'm so sorry for your losses. I too just lost my favorite uncle on Friday night. He only found out he was sick about a month and a half ago. I've been so upset! So I will celebrate fall with you and the END of summer! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. And thanks so much for stopping by.
